Learning the Last Step
To Mom and Dad, self-taught dancers from the greatest generation who gave me the gifts of music and dance. I only wish they had lived to see me dancing at their sides.
Inspiration
I know Mom and Dad continue to enjoy the dance on some celestial or heavenly dance floor, and I’m sure the music that’s playing is Spanish Eyes,
the Al Martino version—one of their all-time favorites.
Take my hand and hold me close. Let the seduction begin—dance with me.
Acknowledgments
In late 2009, I entered the world of social ballroom dancing. Since that beginning I have made dozens of new friendships with dancers of all abilities and interests, from all walks of life—people who love life and want to enjoy it.
Those friendships have endured and flourished and have enhanced my life with new opportunities and experiences. For these gifts, I say thank you. Thank you for your encouragement and for helping me through the process. Life is good, and you are the reason, just as much as the music and dancing we hold so very dear.
I would also like to thank Mr. Len Goodman, judge on television’s Dancing with the Stars,
who wrote about my book in a letter to me.
….I love it. So many great lines….Your dance teacher sounds like a lovely person. All the best.
Talk about old school—a hand written letter in the day of cell phones and email! Thank you, Mr. Goodman!
Inspiration
I now have so many wonderful friends in the dance community—I’m a lucky guy.
Recommended background music: Sincerely
as performed by the McGuire Sisters.
Introduction

There, at its mercy, you may have experienced elation with a swing, felt the heat of a rumba, or found yourself inexplicably haunted by the tango.
Perhaps you
