CORKY AND THE RED STRAW

From the moment Corky's soft green eyes spotted the shiny red drinking straw, he was completely smitten.   Popping around a corner one sunshiny day, Corky happened upon the red straw.  He gently pushed the straw, causing it to roll.  He picked it up with his front paws and tossed it into the air.   He held the straw between his tiny white teeth making him look like he had long red whiskers.

What a prize Corky had found!!  He felt like the luckiest kitten in the whole wide world.

Corky's story began in an igloo.  Not a real igloo, of course, but an igloo-shaped doghouse in Miss Wilma's backyard.   Miss Wilma cared for pets that had no other place to live, and Corky became one of her favorites.
