About this ebook

Angel Mystique Bellows is a young lady who knows what she wants: love, hope, security, and the freedom to live her life the way she chooses, without judgment or despair. Known as Misty to her friends, her life and family are in a constant state of turmoil. After her mother abandoned her, Misty has done whatever she needs to do to survive. She’s sought comfort and solace in the arms of many, in search of the love she was denied as a child. Heartbreak and disappointment are her constant companions, but she’s too strong to let herself be a victim forever.

Misty is a proud woman who refuses to let the disappointments, heartaches, and pains of her past define her. Now she has some choices to make.

Will she reach out to the family that hurt her?
Can she forgive the mother who walked away so many years ago?
Does she even need that kind of drama in her life?

    Chapter 1

    (Crazy In Love)

O kay, you know what to do r ight?

Yea, I know what to do. I’m not stupid. Just give me at least a day or so to set it up, says the young man.

You had better not mess this up or you know what will happen if you do, says the woman.

What is this, a threat? the young man asks.

That’s right, and I will carry it out too, says the woman, who brandishes a handgun.

You are crazy you know that? asks the young man.

Well, I’ve been called worse, says the woman with a smile on her face.

I don’t know why you’re going through all of this for him, says the young man.

Because I love him, says the woman.

Really? Think about this for just a second. What if you go through all of this, and he leaves you anyway? asks the young man.

He’s not going to leave me. I am the best thing that he has going for him. No one else can do for him what I can do for him, says the woman.

Look, I know it’s said that love can make you crazy, but damn, this is going too far. I think that you should just leave it alone. If you are that sure that he knows you are the best thing going for him, he’ll eventually come around, says the young man. The woman looks at him, smiles, and says, You’ve never been in love before have you? she asks.

Why you ask that? asks the young man.

Because if you ever were, you would not sit up here and question my motives says the woman.

I just don’t want you to regret what you are paying me to do, that’s all, says the young man.

Believe me, I won’t. What is it with you? Are you suddenly getting a conscious? asks the woman.

I’ve always had a conscious, it’s just that I refuse to let it get in the way I like to handle things sometimes, says the young man.

So don’t let it get in your way now. Get out of here and go do what you are getting paid to do, says the woman.

I’m going to ask you one more time. Are you sure that you want me to go through with this? asks the young man.

You know something? If you don’t get out of here right now, I will put a cap in you, says the woman.

Okay, okay, I get it. No need for unnecessary bloodshed, says the young man as he slowly backs away with his hands partially in the air.

All of this because of Heather. She doesn’t even know that there are several people that are looking to harm her. She is playing a very dangerous game, says the young man as he gets into his car and drives off.

    Chapter 2

    (The Plan)

A few days later, Heather a young woman who is pregnant is sitting on her porch waiting for the baby’s father (so he thinks), to pick her up. She is calculating how much that she has already gotten from another guy who thinks that the baby is his. In fact, she has gotten herself in a heap of trouble telling other guys girlfriends that the baby is their boyfriend’s. Some things have to come to an end, and sometimes it has to come to a complete stop before anything can ch ange.

As for Heather Marie Bellows, a change is gonna come sooner than she thinks.

How long do you think that you can carry on this charade? asks her mother who is standing in the doorway.

"I’ve done it this long without a hitch, haven’t I?’’ asks Heather.

Yes, but you had better be careful. You are playing a dangerous game with these guys. It may soon catch up with you, says her mother.

Who is going to tell them old lady? asks Heather.

I’m just telling you what I know. You shouldn’t play with people’s feelings like that. You may end up getting hurt real bad or even killed, says her mother.

Aww Mom, stop talking like that. You are the one that’s reaping the benefits off of my so-called father. Where do you think that I get this from? asks Heather.

That’s a totally different ballgame. These days, guys are out to kill. Back then, a woman was just roughed up a bit. No harm done really; we recovered from our wounds, says the mother.

That’s why you have that limp in your walk huh? The man broke your legs, says Heather.

Like I said before, I recovered from my wounds. You may not be so lucky. I see, what I’m saying to you is going in one ear and out the other. Remember, a hard head makes a soft ass.

That’s why all the guys love me for my soft ass, says Heather sarcastically.

Okay, this may seem like a joke to you right now. I’m telling you all this for your own good. Sometimes you don’t have to look for trouble; trouble can come looking for you. No need to bring any more of that into your life right now with the baby you are carrying. What about the girls that these young men are dating? How do you think they feel about what you are doing to their life? asks her mother.

You know what Mom? I really don’t give a damn what those other girls think. In fact, you said it right, that’s what they are, girls. They are not mature enough to handle me, or what I’m doing. They are not my problem, says Heather.

    Oh really? asks her mother.

That’s right. I can’t help it if they don’t know how to hold on to what they have. I am not an instructor on, How to keep your man from getting someone else pregnant," says Heather.

All I can do is pray for you that’s all, says her mother.

Yea, you do that. While you’re at it, pray for yourself too. Me and my baby are going to be just fine.

As they are talking, a horn blows with a young man inside with the music blasting loud. Heather slowly gets up.

You had better be careful young lady. Love you, says the mother as Heather wobbles to the car and gets in. Her mother gets a feeling of uneasiness as she sees her daughter get into the car with a young man who has no idea that the baby that her daughter is carrying is not his at all. The telephone rings, and it is Jade, Heather’s cousin.

Hello Aunt Reagan. How are you doing today?

Hi Jade, I was doing fine until a few minutes ago, says Ms. Bellows.

Is there something wrong? she asks.

No, it’s just that I don’t trust this little guy that Heather is hanging around with.

Who are you talking about Braxton? asks Jade.

"Yes, that’s him. I just don’t know about him. He may be a good guy but I’m not so sure. In fact, I’m not even sure if that was Braxton who just picked her up. It could be someone else. She just left here with some guy
