I. Introduction
When I learned how to crochet, I had a problem. Every how to
book and video set went into advanced detail. All I wanted was to learn the absolute basics of crochet and practice them. I didn’t want to learn all of the terms and techniques yet. I just wanted the basics.
After I became an experienced crocheter, I was reminded of something my husband told me once Don’t bring me a problem without a solution.
This lead me to write Getting Started with Crochet

I want to give you the very basics of crochet. This book will teach you the most basic stitches and the skills you need to begin your journey into crochet. I hope you enjoy what you learn and enjoy what you create.
It is my prayer and hope that the reader of this book find joy in creating projects for family, friends and yourself.
II. Dedication and thanks
This book is dedicated to my Aunt Edna who could knit, crochet, whip up lace on a tatting shuttle and make all sorts of lovely, delicate items. I inherited her old sewing box that had treasures in it dating back to the turn of the century. Thank you for keeping these crafts alive and letting
