INTRODUCTION

This book is the result of the God encounters I experienced in a season of my life. The poetry that emerged was locked in a cobwebbed room deep within my heart. I recall, awakening from a deep sleep, as I opened my eyes the words to a poem and title of the poem came out of my mouth. I grabbed a notebook and pen, as the words exude with absolute certainty from my thoughts onto the pages of the notebook. I am astonished, in five minutes I wrote three poems with their titles included. Strangely enough, this happened several times over the course of the next year.

Moreover, I remember giving my testimony in church and I stated that I was not a poet. I am grateful that the Holy Spirit corrected me by the time I arrived home. From here on, I am whoever God says I am. A Poet is one of the many gifts He has placed in me and I accept it.

In the same way, through the inspiration of God the poem entitled Memory came into being. In fact, as I drove to church one Sunday morning I could feel a poem emerging from me. All things considered, I was driving and did not have time to pull over. Therefore, I thought to myself record on your phone. Ultimately, I recorded this memory I had of my father when I was about four or five years old on my cell phone as I drove to church. The poem unlocked the door to my past hurt, my current forgiveness and my future healing.

In conclusion, God put it on my heart to include a resource to assist anyone that has experienced challenges with sexual abuse. Be that as it may, the organization I was led to is called Darkness to Light. This organization offers a wealth of knowledge on its website to educate individuals about sexual abuse. Presently, they also offer a training class to help people become facilitators to teach a class on the prevention of sexual abuse.

Above all, as you read the pages to this book I pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to you, reveal to you, and heal you in Jesus name.
