    Foreword

    Being a teacher and working with children of all ages, self-proclaimed adults included, I have learnt that what matters most in getting people involved in something is knowing the ‘why’ behind your project.

    When I first created the story about Winky, I was in the middle of a very cold winter period of the school year, with lots of ice and rain. It wasn’t a lovely winter at all, and it seemed as if somebody had sucked all the colours out of the nature. So, naturally, I created a character who
