About this ebook

According to Cynthia, The idea of a warrior who shouts his warfare is unusual, but the idea of warriors shouting for victory, has a sound basis in God’s Word, and is a powerful weapon in fighting the good fight of faith. This book will probably not resonate with you if you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But she strongly believes that those who read this book and relax tendencies toward unbelief will find the Savior that their heart craves; for He is here and ready to receive you.

    Dedication

To my lovely husband/life partner and editor

Thank you. Without your support and patience, I would not have achieved my dream.

    Also

I want to dedicate this book to my friend and mentor Pastor Emeritus Gloria Cherry of Dover, De, who recently transitioned and is now present with our Lord.

    Acknowledgments

I want to thank my husband, Marco for his patience and guidance, your use of the editor’s red pen was harsh at times but necessary; all my love and gratitude to you.

    Preface

On a lonely road in Madrid, Spain, I heard the whisper of the Holy Spirit of the living God; A gentle breeze calling me home; calling me back to my truth.

There was nothing especially wrong or particularly challenging in my life during those times; there was a bit of isolation, perhaps because I had recently given up my career in the United States Air Force to raise our daughter.

But life was now much less complicated than it had been for a soldier miles and miles away from the country I was familiar with, and that had been my home for nineteen years of my life; I became acclimated to this new life.

When the gentle wind of the Spirit blew across my heart, there was a peace that permeated my mind and propelled me to the little church house in base housing, near a beautiful place called La Moraleja, in Spain.

I went alone to the church that day, which was quite different for me; my husband was my constant companion when we were not working, and we enjoyed doing most everything together.

But Salvation comes to each of us as an individual experience, no-one else can receive Jesus for you; and no-one on God’s green earth can block the way, once you open your eyes and you see the dawn of a new day!

The Word of God, Jesus himself, became my magnificent obsession!

The words written on the pages of the Book of Books called the Bible seemed too beautiful to be true; yet I knew in my soul, the deepest part of my soul; that herein was truth and life.

That was about 1978, and my faith in God has never wavered!

That’s not to say that I became the model of perfection, but my esteem rose from, Why can’t the world accept and love me—to God has accepted me into the Beloved, where I can dwell without fear or condemnation.

What a joy, O’er my soul, like the sea billows roll since Jesus came into my heart. My little squeaky voice which cowered in the face of adversity slowly became built up into a roar!

The roar itself was different. The sound was soft, sometimes even sweet, but there was a resolve that changed the dynamics of my life and changed the atmosphere around me; I became a warrior for Christ!

Problems still needed solving; our marriage still needed tending to as a garden needs weeding and purging; my career, after returning to the States was still a daily challenge; but I was different after receiving Jesus, inside and out!

The battles raged on, because Satan or the devil, the one who held us captive to sin, will not give up without a fight. He desires to sift us as wheat and is intense and impassioned in his quest.

But with Salvation comes a turning of the tables, Satan is the loser, and you win! We learn to go quickly into warrior mode; our journey to fulfillment begins.

You see, God has equipped His children with weapons of warfare that enable us to fight the good fight of faith.

Our weapons enable us to wage war in unconventional warfare that does not target flesh and blood but targets the instigator of all that is evil in our life that we must confront daily.

Within this book, A Warriors Quest: Shouting ‘til the Walls Fall Down, we will become intimately acquainted with God and His great love for us; and His plan to save us through sending Jesus to die on the Cross of Calvary.

And we’ll become better educated concerning the weapons of our warfare given to us by God, that allow us to not only survive in this life, but to thrive!

Come with me on this life-saving journey; this spectacular quest to learn to shout with our faith so loud, that the walls that stand between us and our blessings crumble and fall, right before our eyes of faith.

    Introduction

Welcome warriors! I invite you to take a breath today and learn with me how to shout.

The idea of a warrior who shouts his warfare is unusual perhaps, but warrior’s shouting for victory has a sound basis in God’s Word. Shouting for victory is a powerful weapon in fighting the good fight of faith.

This shout of victory is not the picture of a man or woman screaming uncontrollably, or spewing angry words in a shouting match; rather, it is the shout of one who knows his/her strength in Christ; amazing strength that is sometimes hidden from the natural eye.

Life is best defined as a struggle; a wrestling match; an Olympic event, where there will be a loser and a winner. Without Jesus Christ in your life, the designation of loser most assuredly becomes yours.

Who wants to live like that? Who wants to live and die having fought on the wrong side of victory; perpetually using the wrong weapons to fight daily wars?

This book will probably not resonate with you if you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But I strongly believe that if you’ll read it anyway and relax your tendency toward unbelief, you will find the Savior that your heart craves; for He is here and ready to receive you.

The Word of God tells us that the God of the Bible has equipped us with weapons to war with daily that are not carnal (they are not born out of the flesh); therefore, they do not resemble even a little bit the weapons of the world.

When we deploy our weapons, it is from a sheaf of love; out of a love that seeks to give the advantage rather than take advantage. Pastor Gregory Powe taught me that: that our love is unique and much more powerful than the love declared so often in this world.

When your love seeks to give, you know it’s the God-kind of love! Thank you, Pastor Powe!

This world is adept at fighting with an unfair advantage, sometimes so surreptitiously that the person they fight is unaware that he/she even has an adversary.

The Christian’s weapons, on the other hand, are not weapons of malice; they are not designed to seek advantage over another human soul; instead, our weapons are sharpened by love, and are mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds.

Who does not need to pull down strongholds in their life? Who among us does not need to become skillful in the war against the evil that lurks in our lives?

First and foremost, we must identify the true enemy of our souls so that we expend our energies in the right direction.

There is an ongoing cosmic battle being waged right now, in the heavenly places. There is a real devil who desires to steal from you, kill you, and ultimately destroy you and your family: his name is Satan.

Our purpose in introducing Satan is not that we embrace him as a new friend, but that we recognize the old friend who has been there all the time, lurking, taking your stuff, leaving you dejected and confused.

He has not come to befriend you; rather, he is here to steal, kill, and destroy you. He is a fierce warrior who uses subterfuge: lies and distortions of the truth to sway souls away from God, into his kingdom of destruction.

Those are not fairy tales when you hear accounts of people possessed and oppressed by the devil and his demons; it is real!

People often boast that Christians cannot be possessed of the devil, but they can be oppressed!

Well, what would you like for dessert tonight: a little possession; oppression; depression; obsession? Satan will serve you any of the above while lusting after your destruction!

At his best, Satan tries to convince souls of their unworthiness; of their uselessness; that the noble thing to do is to commit suicide: we have children today who are doing just that, committing suicide! They are bullied online and in schools, told: Why don’t you just kill yourself, and eventually they do.

Parents are devastated; they feel such a sense of failure. Many times they were just too busy to notice what was happening to that happy, go-lucky kid that had such promise. It was Satan’s doing, and suicides are marvelous in his eyes!

Oh Yes, sure, he used some other kid, or even some other adult to do his bidding, to do the taunting; but make no mistake about it, the power behind those awful acts is greater than one child or any one person: This means war!

Oh yes, the adversary Satan comes to steal, kill and to destroy us; but a greater power than his is available to us.

Jesus Christ is the greater warrior who has overcome principalities; powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in the high places.

Knowing that he is much inferior to Jesus in power and might, Satan schemes to deceive us, to get us to make terrible life decisions that plug up the pipeline to joy: decisions that bring misery and sorrow without even a ray of sunshine, just as he did with Adam and Eve!

From the days of Adam and Eve, man has always desired control of his own life. God gave them dominion over the earth; but the serpent, being wily and deceitful, slithered into the Garden of Eden and convinced them to turn over dominion and rule to him.

Through this ghastly decision, humankind was now in a fallen state, utterly devoid of command over anything.

Humankind had sinned (violated God’s Law); violated God’s command not to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden, and humankind was changed forever into a distorted picture of the perfection of God.

It was as if the light which was so bright in the Garden of Eden from the light of God’s glory, suddenly was eclipsed by sin passing in front of it.

God’s glory, however, was unchanged; still as bright as ever, but man’s sight was now challenged by the sin of eating the forbidden fruit.

What would become of fallen man? Could God ever forgive them and restore them to the prominent position they held previously; or was it light’s out eternally for Adam, Eve and all of humankind?

Sin is akin to cataracts in the eye of a man. I remember having a doctor pronounce, You have cataracts, which are causing your sight to diminish and causing your increased sensitivity to light. We need to remove them.

Sin is just that way; it blocks the light of God that once shined so brightly in the Garden of Eden. Humankind now has an incredible sensitivity to that light, and in many cases, blindness comes.

Cataracts had to be removed surgically in the natural, and God removes spiritual cataracts if you’ll submit to Him, learn of Him, and walk like Jesus walked according to God’s plan.

The Master of the Universe; the Creator of everything that exists, had a plan to restore man to dominion and rule. God had a plan!

In Genesis 3:15, we first get a glimpse of that glorious plan. God spoke of a man who would come and bruise the head of the serpent, and the serpent would bruise his heel.

That man is the Son of God, His only begotten Son Jesus, who would come in the process of time and give his life to atone for our sins.

Humankind breathlessly waited for Messiah to come! Jesus came unto His own, and His own received Him not; they did not recognize Him as Messiah.

But for those who did recognize Jesus, many gave up all to follow Him. For those who became His disciples, the whole world changed radically for them as they learned to walk and talk in newness of life; they learned to wield the power of Jesus that caused demons to flee from their presence.

They healed the sick, and the lame walked; and for them, life would never again be the same.

Jesus came preaching and teaching the Kingdom of God: A beautiful, breathtaking place; as lovely perhaps as Eden. But the Kingdom would have to be nurtured and cared for in their hearts for a time.

This man Jesus whom they followed and served would have to die for their sins.

No, He did not come to overthrow governments, or to wield His power over systems, there was a greater mission.

Jesus came to earth, through the womb of a woman; a woman overshadowed by the Holy Ghost of the living God. He came to die for us and to cover our sins.

He came to pay the sin debt that was owed by every man and woman because of the original sin. The Bible says, That by one man’s sin, sin entered the world, and death by sin, and then death spread to all men, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Jesus would have to die on the Cross of Calvary! He would have to shed His incorruptible Blood as a sacrifice for our sin.

The truth of the matter is that every man, woman, and child are in desperate need of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

If we live our life without accepting Him, we are doomed to a burning hell for all eternity.

That alone is enough to send us fleeing hell, away from sin and its destructions, all the way to receiving this great revelation of eternal life in heaven with God, Jesus, and the saints, for all eternity.

But there is so much more to this than fleeing hell, beloved, as awesome as that will be. God’s plan is so delightful that heaven can exist for you right here on earth. Life, as life in the Garden, can come to your heart, bringing with it restoration to your home and relationships.

I desire that as you read these words of divine encouragement; that you’ll pause to ponder the amazing Jesus that you’ll either meet herein for the first time, or that you can get to know a little better, as you ponder His sweetness for a while.

So, sit back in your easy chair, sip some tea or exotic coffee, and enter this brave new world of unparalleled love and goodness. Learn how to suit up for the battles in your life, to protect yourself and those you love from evil; and learn to shout so loud with your life, with your love walk that the walls of adversity cannot withstand the new you!

Beware: Your love circle will expand in a way you never thought possible. Every soul you pass in a day will tug at your heartstrings, as you long to share the Gospel message with them, to give them the hope that never fades; the antidote to fear, the source of true Love.

God bless you as you begin this journey. I pray your life will never be the same again!

Warrior Nugget: First, it all began with forgiveness. God forgave us and reunited us to Him. Therefore, the warrior’s heart cultivates forgiveness as necessary to his well-being; going from forgiveness to forgiveness, rather than from offense to offense. His renewed heart shouts, I forgive you!

    Chapter 1

Our Quest to Shout Forgiveness Awakened

Ezra, chapter 3, verse 11: …….And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

Foundations must be laid properly if the house is to stand against the wind and the rains of life. Each one of us has a house, a temple, a place in which to dwell.

The foundation of your house must be laid carefully and with a strong purpose if you are to withstand the winds and the rains of life that beat at the door of your house threatening to take it down.

When building a house, a man many times is so excited about the final product and how he will decorate it or how he
