    ‘Feminist witches. Whatever will they want next?’ I grumbled to myself as I read the paper. It was a line of thought I would pay a terrible price for thinking, although somewhat later in life. It would also be one that I would disavow, my later life being spent as a devout feminist.

    At this time, though, I was just a young man making my way in a male dominated company, fresh out of university and all too keen to impress in my latest job. Women, it seemed to me, were not suited to the workplace and were employed for window dressing only.

    Besides which I was fed up with hearing the incessant complaints from my female colleagues about how they would never get on. How even though I was the only male employee in our section I was certain to become the boss before long. Well if they did anything other than moan perhaps they’d get on themselves. Of course at that time I did not think any woman would make a particularly good boss.

    They moaned about how the directors arranged trips to lap dancing clubs and put them on the company expense account, their argument being that it gave male employees an unfair advantage in gaining his favour. What
