Dedication
I would like to dedicate this entire book to love for without love there would be no me.
Preface
It’s amazing how God works in mysterious ways. I never thought of myself as being a writer of any sort, especially not on the topic of relationships. He put the ideas in my head, and what more can I do but follow his will? If I don’t use the gift the Lord bestowed upon me, He will surely take it away. I must confess that at first I was very reluctant to use my talent of writing unless a professor instructed me to do so. But God kept priming me to obey His commands. My start is like no other writer of today. The story I am about to tell is not elaborated upon or made up for the purpose of atmosphere toward my work. One day I was sitting at work trying to see what I could get into. Let me keep it real. I was extremely bored with nothing to do except count the seconds. Out of nowhere a line popped in my head saying I once found love in a world of chaos, which seem so hard to do, but I found it in you.
Being the person that I am I paid it no attention and went on with my boredom. Finally it was time to start the journey home. On the drive home, the line again ranged out over the loud music playing in the car. Still I ignored it and kept driving. The next day at work again jaded with no new assignments to pass the time, the line came to me once more. Instead of disregarding it from my brain I wrote it on the nearest sheet of paper. I read over it a few times then threw (literally) it in my backpack. As I drove home that day, for some strange reason, I didn’t turn on my radio (which is highly unusual for me). A fluster of original phrases and quotes came pouring down from the heavens. When I got home I dropped everything and dug deep in my book bag and found that one line I had written. It was partially torn; scarred with pen marks, and crumbled up badly. I duplicated it onto another sheet of paper plus added lines to follow it. This was only the beginning of something that would explode with or without me. So I went ahead and wrote as God put the words in my heart. A single line lead to one special tribute, four phases of relationships, and countless expressions on love. Prepare yourself for a voyage through the ups and downs we all have encountered in finding that special someone.
Acknowledgements
"In everything give thanks:
For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
I Thessalonians 5:18
First, I would like to give honor to God who is the head of my life. Without his love and grace to protect me, I wouldn’t be here today. God has been more than just my Lord and Savior. He has been a friend when I was friendless, a provider when I couldn’t find my way, a comforter when my heavy heart weighed me down, and a problem-solver when my trials overwhelmed me. No matter how big or small my prayers are God always answers them. He may not come when I wanted him to, but he’s right on time.
Secondly, I would like to thank my family for being there to support me throughout this entire project. My mother who made sure that I had every bit of writing materials and information to complete this book, to my brother who constantly found different visual concepts for my book, trying to capture the full essence of my book with a single photograph. My sister who gave me advice whenever I thought my dream of being published would fade away like a tear across a weary cheek is certainly remembered. Each one of them means the world to me and I really appreciate them being by my side pushing all the way to the top.
I would like to thank those individuals who sat down and read my expressions to give me an honest opinion of my works. They also made sure my word choices were correctly written, so that the message I wanted to convey to my readers would be crystal clear. I would name each of you individually, but there are too many of you to name and I don’t want to leave anyone out. Each of you knows who you are and again thank you for helping me bring my dream to reality.
Next, I want to thank love, because of love I was able to write this book. I have had puppy love. I have had one-sided love, and finally a real love. All of these different types of love brought me to the man that I am today.
So to love I say thank you for being there when I felt alone,
Thank you for keeping me warm on the cold winter nights,
Thank you for holding my hand when I got scared,
Thank you for hugs and kisses to show that you care,
Thank you for allowing me to love,
And thank you for loving me back.
And lastly I would like to thank you the reader for picking up my book and following me through the Phases of Love
. Thanks for supporting my dream.
To the Reader,
I wrote this book for anyone who has loved and lost it, whether it is on an emotional level or a lustful bond of the flesh. Everyone has been in a relationship or friendship and just couldn’t find the right words to express how you really felt deep inside. Your heart is filled with mixed emotions of fright, happiness, sorrow, and panic (all at
