Chapter 1
The Dream
O nce upon a time in the woods, under a canopy of mighty Oaks and tall pines a maiden sat meditating in her quiet grove. An altar of stone sat in front of her with a candle, some small colored stones and a sprig of rosemary carefully placed on it. The light from the candle flame flickered and danced across the altar, illuminating her face and the surrounding area.
Great Mother
she prayed, show me the path I am to walk, and light my way that I may fulfill my destiny
.
She sat quietly for several more minutes, as her head filled with a great light, her mind swirling as her consciousness was pulled away from the earthly body she inhabited. She became aware of a huge presence that surrounded her being and made her feel that her entire body, mind and spirit was enfolded in great feathery arms of light. She felt, rather than heard, a voice that vibrated through her mind, and sent a bolt of energy through her body, seeming to move down into the Earth below her. This voice said Living room witches lose touch with the Earth
. The energy moved her to sit up straight and she felt as if great arms were lifting her ever closer to the sky. She felt that she must be floating, levitating above the ground.
Great Mother
she whispered, how do I tell them of your message, and that we must regain our connection with the Earth and your children
?
Show them by your actions,
the Voice replied, "that it is not meant to be so difficult to live on this Earth, it is they who make it difficult by forgetting who they truly are, and refusing to be responsible for their actions. Each one of you is a being of light, with the adventure of living in a physical body to experience all that the Earth has to share with you. Do you dance in the moonlight with the freedom of children? Do you wake and greet the sun and plan how to make your day an adventure? Do you care for the water, the air, the plants and animals that are providing the most enjoyable environment? Do you contemplate how the flowers grow in their myriad beauty? Do you care for those elders and children that must be nurtured, as you were nurtured?
Or do you all live in the moment with no concern for any others, with no plan to create a life of honor, of growth, of new ways of being on this lovely emerald world that offers everything you need to live a comfortable life?"
"Tell them that they have all the tools needed to manifest a brilliant existence, but they must learn to use their abilities to do so, rather than wanting someone else, be it God/Goddess or man, to do it for them. So many cultures have grown in size and spiritually, and yet still look to someone or something outside of one’s self to manifest what is desired at any time. Those seemingly in power keep that illusion alive, so that no one individual realizes his or her ability can create sovereignty, and therefore would not need anything from those clinging to power.
It is a grand illusion, but serves them well, so your kin and others that reach for a greater life or greater expression of their own talents fear they cannot succeed, because they do not know they already have all they need."
The maiden sat contemplating these words, feeling the resonance of their power move through her like a great wave from the sea.
Mother, how do I reach them, how do I get them to accept these words with respect as I am not an elder, and they will surely say I know nothing about these things?
Daughter, do not tell them, just be the light that you are, and show them by manifesting your dream in a fearless and light hearted way and then they will want to know how you achieved it and they will listen and respect your words. It is time for the dreamers to awaken from their slumber, and create a new world using the mind and heart already given.
Be awake, be mindful of your thoughts, your words, and set aside any fear for that is a great illusion. Picture your goal in your mind, so clear, so alive that you see the tiny details and then your mind, like magic, will create that reality for you.
Now go, with a light heart, desire, focus, hold it clear in your mind, and walk forth knowing it awaits you on the path. I am you and you are another myself, as it always shall be
.
And so it is,
the maiden softly agreed. She carefully stood up and blew out the candle, leaving the stones and bundle of rosemary there as a gift. She turned slowly to each of the four directions, and bowed her head briefly acknowledging the energy of each and sent out in thought a grateful thank you
to each in turn.
Then she picked up the candle and hiding it in the folds of her cloak left the grove and walked down the path back to her home in the woods nearby, guided by the moonlight that shone on the path.
That was my dream that occurred when I was fifteen years old. This work is a manifestation of my journey and my wish to share what I experienced with others, for experience is the best teacher. So I offer this journal for you to use to create your own path to a lighter, happier life for you and your future generations.
Chapter 2
Beginning
W hen I was young, I found myself more comfortable and happy when outdoors, with my dog as companion. I would roam the woods and fields near our home, enjoying the company of tall sunflowers, and every animal that lived in the area. My favorite lounging spot was up high in the Oak tree that ruled over our front yard in Montana and that lofty perch gave me a different view of my world, and a peaceful place to read and contemplate life, which in my case was somewhat turbulent, with frequent moves every few years.
A successful and driven engineer step-father and a home maker mother who set aside her own dreams until later in life, did their best to inspire me to excel in school and to also seek fairness and equality in the world. My step-dad was spiritually active as a Rosicrucian, and had been in the Mormon priesthood as a younger man. I was encouraged along the same lines and found myself seeing the positive and the negatives in the church of his youth. I always wanted to know about the Heavenly Mother, since they didn’t ever talk about her. This confounded the missionaries who visited with us over the years. That was secret doctrine they were not allowed to discuss.
When I was eleven years old, I traveled to Europe and Turkey with my family, as my dad was involved with a large construction project there, building a dam a few hours drive from Ankara. I was drawn to see the temples and mosques of the Moslem religion there. Back then they called it Mohammedanism. I was very fortunate to be allowed to enter, climb up the steps of the enormous Aya Sophia Mosque in Istanbul, that looms over the city even now, with a guide to experience standing above the city (like in my old mighty oak) and hear the prayers being fervently
