Random Heart Poetry - Visions and Voices - Mala Naidoo
1. Haiku
Truth, both angst and joy
are exposed by ticking time
when justice prevails
Nature’s Classroom
a dividing line decreed
by human law and unlimited need
to split chop and deny
a fair go to all who
breathe nature’s free air
to divide and rule
the fairer portion to steal
from a babe sucking nothing
from an empty teat
unsatisfied — growth denied
but in nature’s domain
fauna and flora coexist
decorating the landscape
blending in bright coloured unison
human hand and mind
have much to learn
in nature’s classroom
where abundance not greed
is aplenty for all to
