    Mac groaned to herself and cursed the heavens. The world was in chaos, just like every other day. The boys drove her crazier than a ferret on a unicycle. Since they’d added Grant to the family, that was a comparison she was comfortable making.

    Thankfully, they’d gone to the neighbors for a play date. So far, Connie hadn’t called to complain, so Mac assumed nothing was on fire. Yet.

    Her phone trembled deep in her pocket. Sam had cracked her password the night before and changed her ringtone while she’d been distracted by the household circus. The familiar introduction to Ice Ice Baby pulsed through the terrycloth fabric and implanted itself firmly in her mind. By the time she pressed the button to answer, she hummed the grating tune.

    Word to your motha, she answered.

    Becca’s voice skittered through the speaker. Mac! Are you busy? Please tell me you’re not busy.
