I have often heard of people who had revealing and, sometimes, premonitory dreams. To tell you the truth ... I never believed in these people much. Maybe it was a way of trying to get attention or wanting to show a possible superpower
, you know? I thought so. I thought.
On another ordinary night, to be exact, on a Wednesday, I drank my good old chocolate milk, brushed my teeth, said my routine prayer of thanks for my day, and went to sleep. I don't think it took even 20 minutes for me to enter the biggest and best dream that anyone could have.
Sitting and admiring a beautiful landscape, already inside the dream, I felt the breeze shake my hair and the birds flew by... oh, let's skip these cliché details. There was a man beside me. A very ordinary man, to be honest. He was watching the horizon with me. Be calm, this man was not God (we are not in the movie Almighty
).
Douglas, have you ever wanted to travel back in time?
the stranger asked me.
Um... To tell you the truth, I never thought of that kind of thing. It wouldn't be a bad thing to go back in time and correct some slips from the past.
Just correct mistakes? We can learn many things from people who were born and died before you. I have a proposal for you.
I can't explain how, but at this moment I realized that it was no longer a common dream. It seemed a little more real than usual. It's like, even though it's a dream, I really have a serious option to choose from. Look the proposal I received.
Listen, Douglas.
The nameless man went on for now. If I could teleport you to some places in the past and introduce you to at least some interesting people, would you accept the invitation?
The notion that it was all a dream already existed in my mind. I was not afraid to accept the invitation, since we were not in a real situation, I thought.
Yes why not? Who will I meet?
Take it easy. You will recognize each person as soon as you talk to them for a few minutes. However, I ask that you respect a rule.
Rule? Which one?
Do not reveal anything directly related to their future. I know that you will recognize such people and feel like giving good or bad news, but keep it together. They will need to walk through the mysteries of time.
See, I was talking to a poet.
Walk through the mysteries of time? I will still post this on my Facebook someday.
He didn't laugh, although he looked like someone nice. Maybe he was just doing orders.
Since everything is arranged, get ready. Absorb everything you hear well. Surely the next people you will meet will have good lessons to teach you.
He gave a slight smile. Despite not being Thanos from Marvel, in a snap of the fingers a huge light took over the whole environment. When I opened my eyes, I realized that I was on the sand.
