PROLOGUE
A man shrouded in shadows only a grassy green robe and dirt brown eyes visible in the dim light of a room. He allowed me to see this; he wanted me to see this. He sat down and read from the books.
With enough electrical power the portal can be opened.
He said. He had two sons, if only he knew that one of them... One of them would be the greatest threat to the human race in recorded history. The boy wasn't raised as a monster, he transformed that way, but I'm getting off track. I know what portal he was talking about, it was a portal to a mysterious world, my world. A world filled with the People of Light
but to human's popular misconception they know us as aliens
, people who are not from Earth. We call ourselves the People of Light
due to our soul or being emits a light and according to whether we have done good or bad, we emit a different kind of color. When we have done good in the world, we emit a bright green light; when we have done bad we emit blood red and etcetera. Because of this the main town in our world, Zofe, is split into different districts. Tadibris for the ones shining red, Ligen for the ones who shine white or ones who are neutral
, and Lupeza for the ones who shine green. The man in the green robe is Hal Cott and his sons are the older son Dave Cott and his younger son Mack Cott. Dave Cott was the one who almost destroyed the world, the reason why? It was because of a girl, Suzy Vepoli. Suzy was a beautiful woman from Ligen; she had short brown hair and wore a white dress with light blue shoes. We always had a certain spark but for one reason or another she dated Dave and our spark was the very beginning of his fury.
Andrew can you help me with this?
Suzy said flirtatiously.
Sure Suzy but what is it?
I asked.
A box of my belongings, I'm moving in with Dave.
A tone of sadness echoed her voice.
That is amazing!
I said picking up the box. I started to walk the box out of the room but I fell, more like tripped by a certain girl who seemed to catch me perfectly before I fell to the ground.
Be careful Andy.
Suzy said softly.
Sorry.
I said as I felt my cheeks heat up. She leaned towards my face and we kissed. I know... It was wrong for me to do that but ‘the spark’. I walked out of the room and to my friend Mack's room, where he was sitting and contemplating about something.
H-hey man. What's up?
I said.
Well my dad has just given me the power of the land.
Mack said as he wiped the sweat of his face with his black armor like clothes.
Like the whole time traveling and...
The whole nine yards.
He replied.
And I know that you kissed Suzy.
I-I didn't kiss her! She kissed me!
What!?!
I must have spoken a little too loudly. I knew the voice; it was Dave who popped in the doorway.
I am going to break you in half!
Run!
Mack whispered. I obeyed as I whipped past Dave and ran for my life to the forest that surrounds the city. I hid in the forest for what seems like hours, hearing the echo of Dave's yelling from an unknown distance away.
Andrew, Andrew!
I heard Mack say.
Mack! What do I do? Dave is going to kill me!
I said franticly.
I think I have an idea,
Mack started.
But it is going to change your life forever.
Andrew looked at me like I had five heads, I know there is a way for Andrew to stop my brother, but not when he is like this.
What do you mean change my life?
Andrew asked.
You will meet your ex-wife at a different time than you did this timeline.
I explained.
Dawn? I-I haven't seen her since she...
Andrew started as tears started to form.
I know... But I can change that.
With your powers?
Yes, but you will have to trust me. Will you go?
Once I finished my sentence a roar of anger echoed in the forest, the roar of my brother who was quickly approaching.
It's not like I have a choice Mack.
Andrew said with a chuckle.
Okay then.
I said grabbing his arm and creating a portal through time. As we went through I heard my brother shout.
You're helping him? Traitor! Once I find you, you're through!
We opened up to a calming summer camp and we looked at it with a gleam of nostalgia in our eyes.
Wow, Camp Ruma! Good times, good times.
Andrew sighed.
I know you want to ride the nostalgia train but we need to set things in motion.
I said.
What do you mean?
I sighed and said. Well first you need an alias. How about Ren Wad?
Ren Wad?
Andrew asked.
Yeah it's an anagram for Andrew.
Hm, I like it.
Good,
I said.
Now we are going to need some 'Pura'.
Pura?
Ren asked.
Ugh, you know some 'ectoplasm'!
I said annoyed.
Ah...but how are, Ow!
He said as I pricked him with a needle.
Why do we need Pura?
"Always with the questions. Well let's say that your younger self and your sister will have Pura a lot earlier. But first we need to send this little bit to your dad. For his work to investigate the Pura.
At the Health Intelligence Bureau? So he will continue to work there?
Ren asked.
Correct.
Mack replied as he labeled the vial 'Desparia Inc.'.
I will give the Pura to his work and you will have to think of ways to update this camp.
Did you plan all of this in advance?
Ren asked.
I completed it once I got the power from my father; we even have our first camper. But anyway, you have a summer camp to restore.
I said as I left. When I reached the HIB headquarters I went into their main lab and placed the vial of Pura on a big desk. I heard footsteps then I turned invisible.
Kelpi! What is this?
A man's gruff voice asked.
Uh, I don't know sir.
I couldn't help but chuckle, Andrew's dad looks a lot like Andrew.
Run tests immediately!
The man said.
Yes sir.
And with that I left, with the plan starting to take shape.
How dare he help Andrew? My own brother! He will pay for this, both of them.
Dave shouted.
Dave, relax.
Relax? Relax! How can I relax, Andrew kissed you!
Because I let it happen! I made him kiss me!
Why?
Dave asked as he started to tear up.
Because I...I love him and you are just going to accept that!
Dave looked down at the ground.
Get out!
He said as calmly as he could. Suzy rolled her eyes and strolled out, once she left Dave talked to himself.
First my father gives Mack all the powers of Zofe and not me. Then Mack helps out the guy who took my girlfriend's love away from me! I'll show them, I'll show them all!
Dave teleported to a room full of purple Pura.
This will have to do...for now.
Dave laughed maniacally.
Halt! Who goes there?
A guard said as they opened the door. Dave chuckled evilly and grabbed the guard's head.
I'm your boss!
Dave could mentally see the guard in his high school cafeteria.
So Malcolm, welcome to the team.
The guard fell to the ground but Dave can still see his past.
I think you will make a great pawn in my game. Andrew, Mack you two are going down!
As I was coming back from the HIB headquarters, Ren worked on the summer camp.
He will do a good job, I know it.
I said to myself. Once I returned he was putting a black sign with neon green letters reading Camp Ruma.
Ren wiped off sweat from his face and said.
How does this look?
I chuckled and replied.
It's looking good!
Come on, let's look around.
We walked on the rock road and got to a field with a couple of cabins.
Over here I think the campers are going to live in these cabins. And this big building will be where I will be.
Where will your younger self be?
I asked.
In that cabin.
He said pointing to the second cabin to the right of the stone road.
Ah.
I replied.
Now, can they fit four people?
Yep.
Ren replied.
Great, let's continue to work on this, and then we can put our plans in place.
Are you sure this will work?
AJ asked.
It has to Andrew or the world will be destroyed.
CHAPTER ONE
Andrew? Andrew!
I heard my best friend's voice say though my trance. I don't remember what I was day dreaming about but I remember the urgency in her voice on that day. I remember almost everything about that day; it was the day that changed my life forever. Who would have thought? A normal day in my sophomore year of high school would turn to the biggest day of my life. My name is Andrew Kelpi and my best friend, her name is Joy Luca. Her, along with my sister and I, were studying for the school's Final Assessment Study Test or as us students called it, the F.A.S.T.
Um, what?
I said as I slipped away from my foggy dreamland.
How do you find the area of a circle?
Joy said with a kind smile. My cheeks turned a deep red and my mind went blank, I had a huge crush on her. I finally formed the best answer I could.
Uh, Area equals Pi times diameter squared?
My younger sister Zoey laughed.
No Andrew! It goes Area equals Pi times radius squared.
Joy kindly giggled.
You never were good at equations.
The studying continued on until the principle's voice boomed from the broken loudspeaker in the room.
Attention all students! Report to the auditorium immediately.
I looked at my crush and my sister.
I wonder what that is about?
I asked.
I don't know, let's go check it out.
Zoey said as she followed the rushing students. The little assembly
He put on was quite a good one; it didn't make him out to be the monster he really was. He was Ren, Ren Wad. He was the one who changed my life, the one who took me away... away from my parents, away from Joy. The last time I saw my parents was during dinner. I remember my dad was so excited about something at his work.
"I'm telling you honey, we found a new cell! It can reflect light and become invisible! It can spread out it's atoms and other objects can pass
