About this ebook
Are you hurting or suffering in silence? God has a purpose in your pain. Many people in general, and even Christians admittedly avoid the subject of pain as much as they avoid pain itself. But once you understand the purpose of pain, you can make the most of the painful experiences in life. In The Furnace of Affliction: How God uses Our Pain and Suffering for His Purpose, Williams Jr. tackles this challenging topic. Based on the Word of God, insights from other leaders, and his studies, he addresses several key points, including how pain develops our faith, deepens our commitment to God, and can determine our path in life. Packed with personal stories and scripture to support his points, Horace shares his insights on the problem of pain. His candid and straightforward communication style engages the reader, as he addresses this critical topic for the body of Christ today.
Horace Williams Jr
Horace Williams Jr. Is the oldest child of Horace and Wanda Williams. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas. The son of a United States Army captain. He lived most of his toddler years in western Germany, at the foot of breathtaking mountains. He then moved to Iowa with his parents as they pursued a life in Christian ministry. Horace accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of five. However, he did not seek God wholeheartedly growing up. At the age of twelve, he traveled around the United States with his parents hoping to raise money for their ministry before the family settled in Texas. Horace was a star athlete in both football and basketball in high school in addition to being a rebellious terror to his parents. He found he had a love for writing in the ninth grade, but never followed through except for composing a few poems for family and friends on occasion. And Then it Happened In July of 2010, at the age of forty-three and the height of his career as a sales and marketing consultant, Horace suffered a massive stroke at the office which paralyzed his left side. It was during those times in the hospital that God began to recapture his heart and give him a new purpose in life. He immersed himself in God’s Word and had a ravenous hunger to learn everything he could about God and His plan for his life moving forward. Horace now has a tremendous passion for Christ. God continues to transform him and renew his mind. He desires to encourage people-reminding them of God's unconditional love and His transforming power. He was a guest on the Broken Crayons Still Color podcast in 2017 sharing how God has been able to use him since his stroke. He also also appeared on The Review with Joy & Company Radio show in August of 2018. Horace continues to experience God's incredible power throughout his stroke rehabilitation. His body and His brain continue to heal, and his passion for writing for the glory of God grows stronger every day.
