Many books were demonstrating the-end-of-the-world scenarios and I was on the front line doing what was necessary to make my mark. Spending time diligently in the lab was my claim to fame, watching through a microscope how certain stimuli could be beneficial to bring this pandemic to an end.
Nobody had figured out where it had come from but we were working around the clock to find a cure. It wasn’t easy when people were clamoring for an answer begging us to come up with something that would get them back in the public eye.
The virus was Airborne. Men and women alike were taking precautions by being socially conscious of the people around them.
We called it the Queen Virus and it was resilient to practically everything we threw at it. I was getting favorable results from an enzyme I had introduced. It was mainly made from plasma from a variety of sources that had volunteered to become my pincushion.
I didn’t know what day it was and I was spending all my time in the lab burning the candle of both ends. The lab was being funded by a private organization and I didn’t question where the money came from when the main purpose was to find the answer everybody was seeking.
The white lab coat was drenched in sweat and I was constantly flipping an errant strand of blond hair away from my eyes by using my mouth. Things were looking good but protesters had begun a systematic campaign to raise their voices against the inhumane way the government was reacting to this thing.
In my opinion, it was the right thing to do to play the odds and give mankind a fighting chance with the physical distancing of at least a few feet away from each other. Masks were used sporadically but I had mentioned during a broadcast it should be mandatory.
The Queen Virus had become a global concern with many companies vying for the first vaccine to put out on the open market. It would mean a huge government contract with the possibility of more in the future if we proved to be successful.
I had been staring at the microscope for
