Ace and Quavo 2 - Siren

    Ace

My mind was trying to process the grisly sight in front of me. There was so much blood everywhere and on me. Navvi was covered in blood and crying. As a mother my attention went to her, but it was what was in my peripheral that had me ready to lose it.

Quavo? Quavo looked at me and smiled as he stood in front of me.

    I think I got shot.

That's when I notice the blood coming from his neck. Before he could say another word, Quavo began to cough up blood and dropped to the floor.

Quavo? I shook him as I tried to calm myself but the man I loved was on the floor dying and my baby was crying. There was blood on all three of us. I snatched up Navvi and rushed to Quavo. I found my cell phone and frantically called 911.

My tears blurred my vision. Please, Quavo. Don't die. Navvi needs you. I need you. I cried as I tried to keep Quavo awake.

Next thing I know, the paramedics were at the door and working to save Quavo.

Were you or the baby attacked? The police officer asked as the paramedics raced out with Quavo on a stretcher. My mind was so foggy.

No. I don't know what happened. I really didn't. We were in our bedroom and then boom Quavo got shot. It wasn't a fly bullet. Someone broke into our home and shot my fiancé. I didn't know who was trying to hurt Quavo or me for that matter. I just know that someone tried to kill my fiancé. There was no evidence of a break in and if it wasn’t for Quavo getting shot, I would have thought it wasn’t real.

I was in a state of shockn as both Navvi and I sat in the emergency waiting room covered in blood. I called Vanessa and Rihanna to let them know what was going on. It was going to take them four hours to get here from Ohio. Hearing Vanessa’s screams played over and over in my head as I tried to stay calmed.

I couldn’t do nothing but wait and rock. I was on the brink of insanity and I just couldn’t wrap my mind around the fact that Quavo was shot. He just had to make it. Seeing all that blood made me scared that he wasn’t. For some reason, I could not sit still so I just paced back and forth with Navvi on my hip. Trying to get my mind to settle on one thought.

Ace? I looked up to see Deuce towering over me. You alright?

Hell, no I wasn’t alright as I began to cry, and Deuce wrapped his arms around me in a hug. My boyfriend got shot. I sobbed.

Wow, that the nigga you left me for?

I was not going to let Deuce’s negativity got me feeling even worse. He was being a hater and I didn’t have time for the bullshit. You can leave Deuce! I cried.

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be tripping.

I just rolled my eyes as I shifted Navvi on my hip.

That’s your little girl? Deuce smiled at Navvi.

Yeah. I calmed down as I kissed Navvi’s forehead. She looked so much like Quavo.

I know this is a hard time. But if you need anything-

Ace? I looked around to see Rihanna and Vanessa and realized that four hours had went by since I called them. Yet, Quavo was still in surgery.

Who is this? Vanessa questioned as she looked at Deuce in disgust.

    Ummm…

    I’m her ex-boyfriend. Nice to meet y’all.

I couldn’t breathe. I was in shock that Deuce would tell my soon to be in-laws this bullshit. So, fucking what we used to be together? It no longer mattered, especially at this time. I was ready for Deuce to leave, ASAP. He was just making shit worse.

Ace you got your boyfriend up here while my son is fights for his life? Vanessa gestured as she pointed at Deuce. I could see the raging storm in her eyes as she tried to get clarity before popping off.

No! Hell no! He means nothing to me. He just so happened to be up here. He just came up to me as I waited to hear from the doctors, I explained; I didn’t need no heat especially about shit I wasn’t doing.

Are you the family of Quavo Robinson? The doctor asked. I could feel my heart pumping through my chest. I was not prepared to say goodbye to Quavo. I loved this man and I just couldn’t see my life without him. You all can go back and see him. The doctor didn’t have to tell me twice as damn near ran back to the hospital room. I heard Deuce say something. But I gave two fucks, my mind was only on Quavo. As soon as I got in the room, my and Quavo’s eyes locked. I didn’t say anything as I rushed to his side with Navvi still on my hip. Navvi was happy to see Quavo as she reached for her daddy. I was crying as I kissed Quavo fervently.

I love you! I released our lips.

I love you, too, Quavo whispered his voice sounding hoarse.

What happened son? Vanessa questioned as she and Rihanna came into the room.

I don’t know. Quavo wrote on the small white board he was holding. I can’t talk much. Quavo scribbled on the board.

We were in the room then the next thing I know Quavo is shot, I spoke to Rihanna and Vanessa.

    I’m glad you are ok.

I didn't care about how anybody felt. I wasn't leaving this damn hospital until Quavo was able to leave. Me and Navvi would just be up here all day and night. Rihanna went to the house to get us some clothes and Navvi some pampers. Shit, I wasn't going nowhere.

Ace, I'm okay. You can go home and get some sleep, Quavo said to me after a few weeks of him being in the hospital. His voice was back and his sister and mother had since went back to Ohio.

Are you coming home with me? I asked with attitude. Quavo looked at me knowing we both knew the answer. Then I'm staying here.

I plopped down on his hospital bed as Navvi slept on Quavo's chest. I can't lose nobody else, Quavo. You and Navvi is all I got. So yeah I'm paranoid. Somebody tried to kill you.

Tried, babe. I'm still here. Quavo grabbed my hand.

But what if they try again? I teared up. I was a down ass bitch. I was that gutta bitch, but motherhood and love softened me. Quavo and Navvi were my world and I didn't want to live if they were not in it. That's how deep I loved them.

But we can’t live in fear. We all going to die one day. We got to live our lives. Look at me Quavo grabbed my chin as he brought my eyes to his. Not even death can stop what we got. Hurricane Katrina couldn't stop me from being here for you and our daughter. I love you. Some bitch ass nigga shot me in my neck and I'm still here. Why? Because my girl and daughter is on this side of death.

Don't make promises you can't keep. I thought about my dad and Chynique. There was no coming back from the dead.

That's my promise, Ace. Quavo brought me closer as our lips met.

You all are so cute! Both Quavo and I jumped as we seen the nurse standing in the door. You ready to go home, Mr. Robinson?

    Quavo

Anigga was happy to be out the hospital. I was walking, I was talking, I had Navvi, I had Ace. Life was good. I was kind of mad that my nigga Swiss didn't come check on a nigga, but then I realized that he was dead. Too many people had died and it made me appreciate life more.

What it do my nigga? I looked up to see my cousin, Avi'ante, walking through the doors of my gas station.

Aww shit, bruh. Welcome home nigga. Avi'ante was in prison last I heard and I guess he got out. I was usually up on shit like that but shit, I was just coming on the top side of almost dying. If it didn't have anything to with my mama, sister, niece, fiancée, and daughter, I was oblivious to what was going on.

Avi'ante was the closest I had to a brother and when we were coming up, my auntie had to do some time and he came to live with us. I guess like mother like son, because both my auntie and my cousin called prison home too many times. But shit, I just went legit; it wasn't like I was no better. I was just blessed not to get caught up.

I’m trying to get the bag, bruh, Avi’ante spoke with hunger in his eyes. If this nigga would have hit me up two years ago, I would have put him on but I wasn’t about that life no more; I was legit. I didn’t even funnel any more drug money through the thirteen gas stations I owned. I was that family man that made reservations and took his daughter on play dates.

I’m out nigga, I spoke as a customer came in and I told Tony, my store manager, who was in the back to ring the customer out. I told Avi’ante to follow me back to the office.

    Like out, out?

    Yeah, out, out. I’m legit.

All this money out here and you want be some shift manager? Avi’ante had not clue that I owned this muthafucka. That was cool with me. I moved stealth anyway. I didn’t fuck with these niggas on my personal business anyway. Ju’el thought I blew all my money too and that I was a square ass broke nigga. Mostly everyone thought that. While we wasn’t on no Beyonce and Jay level of money, Ace and I lived very comfortable in the Staley Hills community in North Kansas City. We may not own a yacht but we wasn’t wanting for anything. I had a new perspective on life after Swiss died. I just lived for my freedom and my family.

It pays the bills tho. I somewhat told the truth.

    Nigga, ten dollars an hour?

    It’s something.

    Nigga you-

Hi Quavo, right? This fine ass chocolate chick came into my office dressed like it wasn’t cold outside. She had on a short leather skirt and a white crop top, that hugged every curve. Both me and my cousin had our tongues damn near hanging out from our mouths.

I’m Quavo. Avi’ante stepped forward and the chick giggled as she ignored Avi’ante and bypassed him to get to me. The chick got into my personal space as she pressed her tities against me. I could see her ass wanted to fuck and I was with it. She wasted no time as our lips came together. I could feel my dick getting hard as I
