Chopping carrots into small chunks, the Sunday roast was going well.

‘That smells good,’ my hubby, Kevyn, 42, whispered whilst pulling me in.

‘So do you’ he followed.

‘You’re a smooth talker,’ I smiled as I turned around to see him, leaning in for a kiss.

That’s when our boys Ethan, 14 and Noah, seven, charged through the back door like a heard of elephants – perfect timing!

‘When’s dinner ready?’ Ethan moaned whilst clutching his tummy.

‘Muuuum, Ethan was mean to me,’ Noah whined whilst tugging at my jumper.

Me and Kevyn rolled our eyes.

‘Maybe later,’ I whispered.

Kevyn sighed in disappointment.

And right on cue, our youngest Nellie, one, began to scream
