Kellanie didn’t look much like her mother, being lighter in body and skin tone, with pale grey eyes and gloriously spiraled silver white hair. Today she let it flow free like a halo around her head, shadowed her eyelids lightly with soft grey and her eyelashes with brown mascara, putting the palest pink blusher on her cheekbones and a softer pink on her lips. She wore a soft flowing dress in shades of blue and white, and Gaya thought she was beautiful. Not just because she was her mother, but Kellanie was truly beautiful. Everyone said so, and Gaya was proud to accept those compliments.

Kellanie and Mary were headed out to the Psychic Fair at the Community Center downtown today, so Mary could hear the keynote speaker, a man whom she had followed for some time and who was said to be very much in touch with the wider dimensions. Gaya thought about going with them, just to see the Fair, but there was too much to do to let it go for the day. She packed lunches for them both, kissed them farewell, and saw them out the door. Fell and Chosen might have gone with them as escort, but Yod had them busy on their own projects. Stephanie and Stell were rehearsing their act in the playroom; Gaya could just hear their voices.

She turned back to the task at hand. There was always work to be done. It was a never ending job, but Gaya reveled in the creativity, trying out every possible combination before settling on the one design that would work best. That would change of course, that was the challenge, but it was always about the creation, always.

Smiling to herself, pleased and happy that her family was safe and doing what they were meant to do, she made her way through the maze down to her conservatory, one of the few places in the house safe from Yod’s constant building. Passing through the glass doors always brought joy to her heart, stepping into the warm humid air, full of the scents of earth, green growing things, and flowers. It was her space, the place where she experimented, and she wanted to check on her latest project.

Balance is in all things, and Gaya knew that. Where one pushes out, another has to give way, or find some way to hide in the crevices where the one does not see. She brushed her fingers through the blossoms, pushing the plants out of the way so she could sink her hands into the soil at their roots.
