    THE HOT SEAT

    It’s the first day of school. Everyone must tell the class a few things they did over the summer. One by one, each student says something. The other students watch and listen. It seems pretty simple, but as it gets closer to your turn, you start feeling hot and a little nauseous. Just the thought of speaking in front of the whole class makes you sick. Does this sound like you?

    Many people feel this way when they have to speak in front of others. Speaking up in front of just a few people can be hard for some. If you’re shy or introverted, talking to others or public speaking can be a nerve-racking experience. It can be difficult to get over your fears, but it’s not impossible.
