Introduction
Aquaponics has rocketed to popularity over the last few years as a fun and functional way to feed families and grow commercially. It's an effective way of getting two crops for the price of one. The issue most people will run into is that while the science is simple success is not. There are lots of things to go wrong in your system and many reasons you might not be seeing that guaranteed success
you were promised.
Plants have very simple needs and, like humans, as long as those needs are met they will survive. But survival is a poor measure of aquaponic success, you want your plants to thrive. This means you need to know all the ins and outs of what could be causing things to go wrong and just what to do to fix it. It's often said that you need a green thumb to garden successfully but the truth is that any educated person can be successful with the right knowledge which is where this book aims to help.
This isn't an introduction to aquaponics and you won't find instructions for making beds or even how aquaponics works. Those topics have been done to death at this point and frankly re-reading the same tired information is not going to give you answers. We're going to look at a much more scientific and in-depth approach of what you might be missing for your plants to really thrive and see the success you were expecting.
You want to hear that this book is different, and that it's going to miraculously make your system work. But what you are going to get is a deeper understanding of what makes your system go round and what you can do to tweak it so that your plants get their needs met at a much higher level. It's beyond the simple light, water, nutrients, etc
list, and it's down to the raw science beyond the nitrogen cycle that should already be second nature to you.
Hopefully, you've come here ready to take the next step and to make your system perform better than ever. This book is for those who want their system to be the best and most efficient it can be and to help those who just can't seem
