Identifying Negative People & Dealing With Negativity - Cornel Manu

    Introduction

The people we spend time with have a major impact on our lives and how good we feel. And how good we feel has a major impact on the success and happiness we create.

Positive people are like a glass of fresh cold water on a hot summer day. They give us energy, they make us feel amazing, and they also keep our mind on a positive track. They help us see what is good in us, in others and in life. With all these things, we can march on to create a life that we are truly proud of.

They will applaud our success and will support us in difficult times. Positive people will make us feel like everything is possible.

But there’s another side of the table.

Negative people are like a toxic cloud that surrounds us. They take our energy away, they make us feel horrible and fearful, and they will also make us think that everything is dark around us. We will start to see tragedy where it’s not and inevitably create it with our own hands.

Because whatever you think it’s real, you make it happen.

They make us forget what is good in us and in others, and they amplify what is bad. We start to see evil everywhere, including in our hearts. With all these bad feelings and clouded judgment, we won’t have the tools, the clarity or the energy to do anything in life.

We will end up ignoring our problems and let them grow bigger, and we will be paralyzed by fear and never attempt anything new. Our life will degrade under our own eyes and we will do nothing to stop it. And to forget about all the pain we have inside, because nothing is how we want, we will turn to vices, amplifying the problems even more.

The truth is that the ones we choose to have around will greatly influence the outcome of our lives. In this book, you are going to learn to identify negative people and how to deal with them. From co-workers to members of your own family, you will have all the tools you need to end the negativity in your life and start a new positive way.

Dealing with people is not an easy topic, and some people ignore to approach this matter their entire lives. We grow up believing that being sociable means accepting all kinds of things that harm us in the long term.

Negativity is not seen as a harmful thing because the effects of it are not immediate. The negative people that you have around won’t make you feel bad about yourself or see the dark side of life overnight. It’s a subtle influence that we most often don’t even notice it.

You don’t feel the chains of negativity until they are too many of them and too hard to remove.

The effects are real, and even if we acknowledge them or not, they will have the impact that is normally caused. Nothing goes without an effect in this life, and spending time with negative folks, believing that you can remain positive as you cannot be influenced, is an illusion.

Everyone gets influenced by the people they spend the most time with. It’s in our DNA, it’s what helped us survive. Yes, you read it right. It’s an important instinct that helped us survive. First of all, it helped us survive because by staying in groups and doing things together made us stronger. Therefore, social skills were very important for surviving. Those that didn’t get along with the group were excluded and couldn’t live by their own.

Another reason for having this social instinct is because it helped us evolve. You see, when someone learned to use a new tool or a new skill, all we had to do was simply watch that person and we were able to replicate easily. We learned by seeing others what they do. We still have this instinct. It’s how kids learn to walk, use tools or dress themselves.

The good thing is that we can be picky now, and we can choose the kind of people we surround ourselves with. We can live independently and start a new tribe whenever we want or consider it necessary. Therefore we don’t need to keep ties with people that don’t provide a good value to our life, and even more, threaten our mental and emotional stability.
