Chapter ONE

What Is

You and Evolution

The man walked far enough behind her that he had to shout to be heard above the sound of the waves that washed up on the shore

you know you can’t save them all

I know that she replied as she bent to pick up another starfish on the beach and throw it in the ocean but I saved that one, didn’t I?

Her mind was filled with thoughts: My husband has found a beautiful place to stay in paradise. I have a swimming pool and a staff who will bring me anything I ask for, but I like the ocean and the constant waves. At that moment a gentle breeze blew her beautiful blond hair into her eyes. She stooped to pick up a starfish lying on the sand and threw it into the water.

Years ago, a young man, fresh out of a well-known college with a master’s degree in a subject that focused on philosophy, thought he knew enough to write a book, that he had all the answers. He soon found out that he did not know anything, that he had much to learn and is still learning. This book is a result of some of what that young man has learned. What I have expressed is my perspective.  Please excuse any appearance of sexism, which is not intended.

The question is not whether God has imbued men with great powers... but rather, how we liberate those powers. (Brown, pg 314)

The human experience is full of challenges. Succumbing to the weakness of this experience harms all of us. We are all alone amongst the many. What you do as an individual, is your journey. Our alignment with the intelligence of the universe will determine whether mankind we will be a short-lived species, or we will become extinct. I hope that reading this book will influence your role in what may be one of the most important times in the history. With the single person being the microcosm, it is time to grow out of the microcosm into the macrocosm. Let’s turn a negative into a positive.  

We cannot depend on our leaders to give us guidance. Man is in a crisis; our consciousness will determine how we turn out as a species. We are at a point in man’s evolution when we are aware that we can direct our mind.

In man the perfection of Creation emerges through his consciousness. His awareness of the energy of Creation is determined by the information that has been made available to him, depending upon his experiences and the condition of his mind. We can eliminate the obstacles to receiving that information and contribute to the evolution of consciousness. Multiple possibilities are presented. The intelligence of the universe is out there How you receive it is your choice,

Man can willingly and consciously participate in the cosmic dance of evolution.  The normal trial and error of adaptation and mutation takes place within Man as thought. In Man the perception of the individual is affected by the thoughts of the whole, and those perceptions influence the consciousness of the species. In this respect each individual participates in the evolution of consciousness. The intelligence of Creation seeks to emerge from within each and every one of us. Man’s role in evolution is the realization of the perfect intelligence of Creation in the form of a conscious being.

Creation seeks to manifest itself in the physical world as a conscious being that knowingly understands and joins in the process of evolution. The tension of apparent opposites that propels Man’s evolution occurs within his consciousness. The emergence of perfection occurs when conscious beings are in alignment with the harmony of Creation.

The new possibilities presented by Creation are mutations. If the intelligence of Creation assimilates this new form into evolution, it becomes an adaptation. Creation emerges harmoniously from the ensuing form as long as the environment does not change in a way that does not support the evolved form.

When the mutation enters into a harmonious relationship with another act of becoming, then that mutation adapts to what is and remains part of our existence at that point. We may call this manifestation of the energy of Creation an adaptation. This adaptation will continue to exist as long as it is in alignment with the universe. This process is in fact perfection evolving! Flowers grow, birds sing.

Creation can be experienced as the beauty of a sunset, a snowflake, the sparkle of moonlight on the ocean, and love.  As you align yourself with the energy of Creation, life works better: relationships improve; happiness and abundance appear in one’s life.

Since primitive times man has sought to understand the energy of Creation, and explain how to align oneself with that energy. We find great wisdom in shamanic teachings as well as the words of Tao, Mohammed, Zoroaster, Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi and others. These teachings can be a source of enlightenment, and help eliminate the obstacles to being at one with the harmonious energy of Creation. If misunderstood and misused those teachings can also result in hindering one’s path toward understanding. It is important to remember that most of what we have access to is seen through the perspective of another person’s eyes. The essence of most of these teachings is the same. Just as each of us interprets our reality through the lenses created by our experiences and information, this applies to the person who is sharing the wisdom of those great men.

It is when we realize that mind allows us to not only willingly choose to share in the highest vibration of the Creation that we become aware that we are not just part of the evolution toward perfection but that the ability to evolve and become improved individuals is within each and every one of us. We are evolution. At the point that we understand our role in Creation, dualities, which cause separation, are eliminated in our lives and in our universe. Where does a river begin and end? Are Yin and Yang part of the same thing, Creation appears to be moving toward perfection? Man can become a conscious manifestation of that perfection, a God in a physical, conscious form. There is an energy in creation.
