Introduction
Saint Thomas Aquinas was one of the most renowned influential philosophers and medieval thinkers that Scholasticism has ever known. While he was also a representative of the Roman Catholic Church, he is more popularly known as the father of the Thomistic school of theology. He combined his philosophies with his insightful theological learnings in the faith, which had a major impact on his pupils and the world in general. Aquinas was also highly regarded for his style of writing and his unparalleled philosophies that reflected in his stories.
Aquinas is widely known across the globe for amalgamating two contradicting disciplines; philosophy and theology. Many scholars strongly claimed that these two sciences cannot and will not coincide, which Aquinas proved wrong with his firm and concrete ideologies. By doing so, he influenced people around him, irrespective of their education or level of comprehension. Another reason why Aquinas was so well-known is that he claimed to have levitated and saw mystical visions of the Virgin Mary. Many people still follow his philosophies as his writings provide a window to the linkage between faith and reason (more like religion and science in today's world). This is why he is deemed to be a saint as well as a philosopher. On the contrary, he can neither be deemed as a scientist nor a monk. He did believe in God, but he also argued that
