Adoption Sensitivity: Some Things To Think About

About this ebook
In Western culture, everyone has the popular picture of a family being that of a married couple with biological children. The idea of adoption places alternative forms of the family outside the norm. As a result, research indicates that there are disparaging views of adoptive families, along with doubts about the strength of their family bonds.
Indeed, I wouldn't say so much about my roots as a Native American before I was adopted by my immediate family, basically because I was a kid; and I wouldn't remember anything even if I wanted to.
It certainly isn't a story anymore that several kids who are adopted by foreign cultures, do not get to learn anything about their origins. I think every international or transcultural adopted child needs to be given back their roots. So they really can know how best to explain things to their children in the future. For me, all kids must have equal rights to know everything there is about their roots.

Introduction
This book reveals from first-hand experience, general philosophy about adoption, the effects of introducing an adopted kid to his or her original cultural background, effects on them as adults, also share helpful advice on the best way to give them these roots back, as well as parenting tips and tools for you on the culturally rich journey of transracial/transcultural parenting.
In here, I also revealed the risks of hiding your child away from his / her cultural background, not building your child's sense of racial identity, and race, and preparing your child to deal with discrimination. It is safe to be uncomfortable. But the fact is, it is more dangerous not to reveal them than you think it is to introduce them to their roots. Best asked, what do you stand to lose? Nothing! Knowledge is crucial to ensuring you walk through the journey of transracial parenting effectively.
Ask questions, find solutions, and push through the distress and anxiety. This is an exhilarating and eye-opening ride, full of ups and downs, full of laughter, and full of heart-warming encounters. Raising a child of another race and building a multicultural home atmosphere is the secret to a healthy foundation for a prosperous family.

Understanding Adoption
What is Adoption?
Adoption is a process in which a person assumes the child or biological parent of someone else, typically an infant. Legal adoptions automatically assign the adoptive parent or parents to all rights and obligations and filiation. In certain countries, the entire original birth certificate for the adopted person is canceled and replaced with a fake birth certificate after adoption, stating that the infant has been born to the adoptive family.
These setbacks that persist in life for the adopted person and are the cause of much trauma endured by these kids, including loss of identity, family background and culture, biological family (including not only
