Since I was a little girl, I've always had a passion for reading and writing. After high school, I went to college and majored in English and Creative Writing. My goal is to eventually become a best-selling author. My literary passions include sensual literature, playing to man's (and of course, woman's) deepest, darkest desires. Even though my works are fictitious, I always try to throw in an element of realism from my own experiences.Feel free to visit my site at https://sloanmoriarty.wixsite.com/sloanEnjoy your reading!

This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events and incidents are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

    Chapter 1

Jeeze, I can’t see anything! I say out loud, squinting through the windshield.

It is pitch-black but the rain continues thundering down, pounding on the hood of my car as I make my way home. Trisha will be pissed if I am late for Jace’s 5th birthday. I would be too. Unfortunately, with assignment deadlines looming, I could just not take off until now. Normally, an excuse would clear the air but this isn’t the first time. To be honest, my work ethic has also been fading through these past years. I just don’t have the same energy as I did before.

I look at my cell – 7pm. Crap. The cake is probably already cut. I’m definitely going to get an earful.

As much as I love Trisha, I’ll be the first to admit our marriage is failing. Before the birth of Jace, we came to the realization that we were just very different people. She’s a lot like her mother – controlling, manipulative and always needs to be in the right. As for me? I go with the flow, for most occasions just to see where life takes me. My instincts generally kept me on the right path but now almost a decade into marriage, I’m starting to second guess myself.

When I first met Trisha, it was her looks that got me. Jet-black hair down to her shoulders, impeccable taste in business attire and matching brand name thick-rimmed glasses. Trisha had a classic look. Gorgeous and composed, a beautiful hourglass figure, I always thought she was too good to be with an average-looking, run-of-the-mill Dave
