About this ebook

Sentience is the word we use to say that we are animals like animals are human. It is now proven by science that animals have consciousness and must be treated like humans who also have consciousness: but not of other animals.

    Introduction

    Stating the obvious

Sentience is something that Buddha taught about awareness and consciousness, especially when considering your relationships with each other and animals.

Sentience is the ability to perceive one's environment, and experience sensations such as pain and suffering, or pleasure and comfort. A sentient animal will have the ability to receive internal sensation and information from its environment, and then interpret this as an emotion.

This book is about finding the truth about human consciousness and animal consciousness and how they are the same because humans are animals if you accept that we have come from apes and that animals are sentient beings like humans.

A big turning point in my life was when I read about Buddha and his views on sentience and then compared them to those in the bible, where God said, A big turning point in my life was when I read about Buddha and his views on sentience and then compared them to the bible, where God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that crept upon the earth. Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

When I first read this, I knew there and then why most people eat meat and show no compassion whatsoever for the sentient being that has been brought up in a factory farm on bland food, slaughtered, and then consumed for its pleasure-giving flesh.

I hope to explore the wheel of karma in this book to find out if Chinese people who skin dogs alive and boil them alive come back in their next life as a dog who will be eaten by another cruel, heartless thug like they were, and on and on this cycle will go until we stop killing animals.

I don’t eat meat. I eat tofu, vegetables, and fruit. I feel healthy and strong. In the Blue Zones around the world, where a lot of people live to over 100, they don’t eat much
