But when her father dies, she’s left with grief that derails her fairytale world. Revenge is the only thing on her mind. When Nitro Dix steps in to console her, it sets in motion schemes that flip the script in their lives.

Nitro Dix was all set to start a family with his girl, Dalyia. He’d worked hard to secure a future for them, quickly becoming a young Dallas street legend. The only thing standing in their way was Dalyia’s overprotective mother who couldn’t stand seeing Dalyia throw her life away to be with Nitro. She has her own plans for breaking their bond and getting her daughter far away from Nitro.

Dalyia can’t understand how she could be planning her perfect wedding with Nitro one day then hating him the next. She’s left wondering what happened and how she ended up being a single parent to Nitro’s first-born child.

As Raspberry and Dalyia’s paths cross, emotions from the past are brought to the forefront and decisions have to be made. Seven Days Mourning

A time of reflection and prayer. It is required by Jewish Law that the immediate family spend seven days of mourning after the funeral. Many practices are observed during this time. The bereaved do not cook or run errands. They do not wear makeup. Mourners abstain from pleasures of all kinds: sensual, sexual, or even intellectual. Distractions are not permitted: so, no television, card-playing, shopping, or computer games. This kind of self-denial is usually explained as an aide to grieving.

    1

    In the Beginning

Raspberry wasn’t Jewish. In fact, she wasn’t a religious person at all. It was something either OC didn’t believe in or didn’t have the time to teach her during the first nineteen years of her life. While in high school, she studied the Jewish culture. She knew their traditions. So, when her father, OC, died, she mourned; seven whole days.

On the eighth day after OC died, it was time for his baby girl to handle business in the name of her father.

Mount up, she told her father’s right-hand man. Twenty minutes later, Tonto pulled up with the full crew she ordered.

    What up Ma, Tonto greeted.

Let’s roll, Raspberry replied not fully acknowledging Tonto.

Raspberry was dressed in all black. Not a drop of makeup applied to her face. Hair pulled back into a tight ponytail giving off the vibe of get the fuck out of my way or catch some smoke. With no plan in mind, she went through the hood to a few trap houses she knew didn’t belong to OC and sprayed ‘em like she was the Orkin man and had been hired to exterminate any creature moving.

Tonto was all for getting revenge on whoever had offed OC. He was down for handling it himself. There was no need for Raspberry to get her hands dirty. He’d made a promise to OC to watch after Raspberry if anything ever happened to him. Tonto was trying his best to do what he said he would. He knew Raspberry wasn’t going to stop until she exacted retribution for OC. The problem was, nobody knew who was behind the hit on OC.

Raspberry, Tonto called her name after she had wreaked havoc on three different trap houses.

Raspberry turned her head towards Tonto giving him her full attention but saying no words.

You gotta stop this shit. OC wouldn’t want you to catch no case. Why don’t you take a vacation? Hop on a flight to Cayman; grieve and get it all out ya’ system. Let me and the crew take it from here. Tonto was hoping that after killing about half a dozen people, she might have calmed down a bit. That wasn’t the case at all.

Get yo’ punk ass out the damned car, Raspberry uttered.

    What? Tonto said.

Nigga you heard me. Bounce yo’ ass up out this car while I’m giving you the mu’fuckin' chance. As a matter a fact, all y’all can step. I’on need no weak ass niggas riding around with me that ain’t down for my daddy.

When no one moved, Raspberry yelled at the top of her lungs as she waved her 500 S&W Magnum. Get the fuck out! That was all it took for all six of OC’s mob squad to start bailing out from every door on the SUV that could open. They’d just watched as she’d gunned down low-level dealers and junkies who probably didn’t even know who OC was.

Raspberry hopped into the driver’s seat and burnt off as the last of the men barely stepped out of the car. A few of them hit the ground and rolled their bodies away from the SUV as fast as they could; Raspberry never looked back. Tonto stood there watching as Raspberry punched the gas pedal causing the tires to screech. Tonto pulled out his phone when it rang. He looked at the screen and recognized Nitro’s number right off. He already knew why Nitro was calling. Word travelled fast when shit went down in the hood.

Tonta had dealt with Nitro a few times in the past. When OC was having problems with his supplier out of Colombia, He sought out Nitro, the new boss over on the east side. He had worked his skills and secured backing from a Mexican Cartel, impressing OC. No one had ever been able to break through with the Cartels. They usually operated within themselves. Nitro proved his worth on the street and gained the respect of every OG in Dallas. A new Dallas street legend was born, and OC loved it. Nitro and OC had talked about eventually partnering together to gain control of the entire metroplex.

Who the fuck shaking shit up? Nitro said the second Tonto answered the call. Nitro had gotten word from his people on the street about a black SUV rolling through and popping shit off with no warning.

OC’s daughter trying to be on some type of revenge shit, Tonta relayed. He filled Nitro in on everything that went down.

If she don’t sit her ass down, she gone fuck all our asses up, Nitro said.

Nitro was looking at the bigger picture. FBI, DEA, ATF and DPD all turned their heads and acted like they didn’t know what the hell was going on in the city as long as you lined their pockets and as long as you ran your shit quietly. Law enforcement was a joke. But the minute people started complaining about the death rate rising, they had to act like they actually gave a shit and start throwing mu’fuckas in jail.

"I told her we would handle it. But she on some, I’m doing this for my daddy shit."

I hate dumb shit, Nitro mumbled. You can’t operate off emotion. Who took out OC?

We don’t know yet. I got a couple of guys working on it.

Let me know as soon as you find out, Nitro instructed. Do you know where OC’s daughter is heading?

    Nah, Tonto told him.

Shoot me her address, Nitro instructed. When he heard his phone beep letting him know he’d received the text with Raspberry’s address, he told Tonto he would holla back.

Nitro knew he had to handle Raspberry quick. She was screwing with his operation out of frustration. Anybody else and he would have dropped her before she knew what was happening. But because he had been on good terms with OC and she was dealing with his death, he was going to talk to her first to give her a chance to get her head right. After that if she still was talking and acting like a lunatic, he was gone make sure she joined her daddy in the afterlife. She wouldn’t have to grieve his ass no more.

Nitro gave the address to Siri and allowed her to guide him to Raspberry’s place in Victory Park. Nitro parked his car and walked over to the valet. After slipping him a couple of hundreds, he all but carried him right to Raspberry’s front door.

Nitro raised his hand to knock on the door but paused when he heard his personal line buzz. The only person who called that line was Dalyia. He pulled out the phone and was about to touch answer call when Raspberry’s door flew open.

Nitro was staring down the barrel of Raspberry’s magnum. Instead of answering the call, he sent it to voicemail and slid it into his back pocket. Slowly raising his hands, he spoke. I’m Nitro. Nitro noticed her facial features alter just a bit when he said his name. She looked like she had been crying for a month. He knew that not to be true because it had only been seven days ago that OC had gotten killed. But she looked almost as bad as the junkies she’d just laid to rest.

Nitro banked on the look she’d given at the sound of his name being a form of recognition. Maybe she had heard of him. Maybe she knew he was cool with her dad. Otherwise, he knew he was going to put her down before she put him down.

I was a friend of your dad’s, Nitro spoke.

My daddy didn’t have no friends.

True, Nitro agreed. I worked with your dad a few times.

Raspberry already knew that to be true. OC kept her up on everything that happened with the business. He always told her he wasn’t always going to be around and the day he wasn’t was the day she had to step into his shoes. Not having a son, OC groomed her to take over when he died. OC’s entire operation knew how he wanted things to play out.

OC had always wanted Raspberry to hook up with someone like Nitro. Someone who knew the game as well as he did. The only thing from forcing him to make things happen between Raspberry and Nitro was Nitro being involved with some girl he had been dating since high school. Yet and still, it didn’t stop OC from mentioning Nitro to Raspberry and telling her she needed a man like Nitro.

What the fuck do you want? Raspberry said while still pointing her gun at Nitro’s head. So the fuck what? Daddy liked his ass. Don’t mean he ain’t the one that called the hit. Nigga’s always trying to come up.

I’m just here trying to help you, Nitro said.

I don’t need no fuckin’ help, Raspberry said as she took a step towards Nitro almost touching his forehead with the barrel of the gun.

One thing Nitro knew to be true was that if Raspberry wanted to off him, she would have done it the second she opened the door. She hesitated. He was looking at a disoriented little girl who was lost without her daddy by her side. He knew Raspberry’s story. Everyone in the game knew about the slick tongued beauty who was raised by her ruthless drug dealing daddy primed to take over for him after he died. Her reputation in the game was as strong as OC’s. but none of that shit mattered to Nitro right now. If she didn’t get control of her emotions and fast, she was about to bring down heat on everybody including herself.

Look Ma, Nitro started. This is going to end one of two ways. Either Krispy Kreme gone come beating down your door and drag yo’ ass into a cell or they gone shoot first and ask questions later. You are stronger than both those scenarios. OC told me himself," Nitro lied.

At the mention of Nitro saying her daddy had told him she was strong, her demeanor changed. Nitro watched as a tear cleared her eyelid and ran down her face. He reached his hand over and took the gun out of her hand. That one single
