About this ebook

I don't want to go home after the spring semester ends. I'm nineteen, away from home for the first time, and…I've met someone, a boy from my psychology class. I'm tempted to see where this flirtation leads, and when my professor offers me a summer job, I have the perfect excuse to stay. But Sam has a secret that I'm not sure I can accept, a secret that would initiate exploration of a whole new side of my sexuality. If I'm brave enough.

    Neapolitan Nights

I woke slowly from a hazy dream, the remains of which became even more fragmented as full consciousness overtook my senses. Whatever torpid imagery had been occupying my sleeping brain had left my breasts sensitive and a stirring between my legs.

The sheets were damp. I swiftly pulled the covers off my body. I had slept wearing only my panties because it was so warm last night. My nipples were hard, and I instinctively covered my bare chest before remembering that my roommate Kim had already left for the semester. She had taken the air-conditioner from the window with her. It was hers.

The sweltering air in the room must have produced the sultry dream. That and perhaps the hour of much-needed pleasure I gave myself the night before, taking full advantage of my time alone.

I got out of bed and walked to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. It felt good to walk around half naked. While waiting for the machine to brew its dark roast nectar, I slipped my panties down my legs and let them fall to the floor, enjoying total freedom.

Steaming mug of java in hand a few minutes later, I dared to linger at the open window and pull back the curtains. The quad was empty, which would have been unusual if this had not been the final week of classes. Most students had already packed up and left for the summer, but I still had one exam left to take that morning before my summer vacation officially began.

In comparison to the campus, Memorial Boulevard, the main road just beyond, was bustling with traffic and pedestrians. First Beach was already starting to fill with people looking to get a jump on what promised to be another perfect beach day. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the water was shimmering under the rising new-day sun. Tourist season in Newport usually begins on Memorial Day and lasts through Labor Day, but this year it started a little early with the unseasonably warm weather. In fact, Rhode Island had been experiencing a mini heat wave, with temperatures surpassing ninety-two degrees the previous four days.

Naked and basking in the ambient heat of the dorm room, the tingling between my legs made me consider indulging in a little more me-time before I had to go to class. I didn’t know what was making me feel this way, but with Kim gone, I didn’t have to suppress it or sneak into the bathroom to touch myself under a curtain of warm water and rising steam in the shower.

My ringtone began to play a snippet of Katy Perry’s, I Kissed a Girl, letting me know
