Stalker Under the Mistletoe - Brandi Gillilan

    Chapter One

S o let me get this straight. Kyle took a swig of his beer, looking at his fellow Grimm Knight teammates, two were playing pool while the third was carving into the side of a cabinet he was building. You three grew up as brothers from other mothers. Joined the Marines together and all three manage to become Marine Recon at some point. Served together off and on. Am I on track so far? He looked at the three Marines in question.

So far on track, Callum replied lining up a shot, hitting the red seven into the yellow one, sinking it.

Alright. So, all three of you have sisters. And for some crazy reason, the six of you made a pact to marry if you weren’t married when the sisters hit thirty? Kyle went on.

Partly correct, Clark replied then snorted when Lysander scratched. He lined up and sank the eight ball, winning the game. Loser racks ‘em, Lysander.

Lysander rolled his eyes and huffed good-naturedly before setting the table up for the next game. Callum has a pact with Kara. I have a pact with Harley and Clark has a pact with Raven.

Kyle frowned. That's what I said.

No, you generalized. I am not in a marriage pact with my sister or Raven. I made a pact with Kara. Callum explained. He hadn't looked up the whole time they'd been talking, just focusing on the cabinet he was building.

Kyle got up and walked around the pool table to study Callum's work. The cabinet would be a large piece when it was finished. The portion Callum was currently carving would be an upper shelf. The carving was an intricate design of scenes from fairy tales with what looked like superheroes.

This looks great! What do you do with the pieces you make? Kyle asked.

This is going to Kara. Was all Callum would say.

Confused Kyle asked Fairy tales and superheroes? Not something he would expect for a grown woman.

She is in love with fairy tales and superheroes. Has been since she was knee-high to a grasshopper. Clark answered instead.

Most of his pieces go to family or friends. Lysander added, then grinned at Callum and added, "and most of those pieces have been sent to Kara."

Callum rolled his eyes, the tips of his ears going red. He threw his dust rag at Lysander, smacking him in his face when he started laughing at his embarrassment.

Lysander sputtered, spitting out a bit of sawdust. Worth the dust in the mouth just to get a reaction.

Clark snorted, sinking the eight ball he turned and glared at Lysander. You know damn good and well bringing my sister up to his gets a reaction. So it’s cheating. Fun, but still cheating.

The sound of a cell phone ringing echoed in the room. Callum stood and pulled the device from his pocket. Looking at the caller's name a small smile graced his lips. As he answered the phone he walked away from the small group.

Kyle turned back to the other two-thirds of the trio. Has always had a thing for your sister?

Clark put his cue stick back on the wall rack. Lysander followed suit. Clark took the stool Callum had been sitting on.
