About this ebook

Several children have put pen to paper and taken part in the very first Shenanigans'20 Children's Anthology; Aspiring Dreams.

Between the pages of this book you will find the brilliant imaginations of those children, who are aged between 10 and 15 years old.

From a time traveller to dealing with bullying at school.

Some of these kids have never written anything like this before, but for the cause they've stepped out of their comfort zones and produced some amazing work.

These kids have taken the leap and produced these stories for the charity Milly's Smiles.

Fingers crossed one day these kids will become kick ass authors, because they truly have done an amazing job.

    Aged Fifteen

    Chapter One

    Hannah

    Monday 24th September 2:55 pm

    A sex tape.

    A pregnancy scare.

    Two cheating scandals.

That’s only this week’s news. If all you knew of Greendale High was Simon Keller’s gossip app, you would wonder how anyone had time to go to lesson.

Old news Hannah, wait until tomorrows post. Says a voice over my shoulder.

God. I hate being caught reading about that, especially by its creator. I put my phone in my pocket and slam my locker shut.

Whose lives are you ruining next, Simon?

Simon walks beside as I move against the flow of students, heading for the exit.

It’s a public service, you tutor Reggie Crawley, don’t you? Wouldn’t you rather know he has a camera in his bedroom?

I don’t bother answering. Me getting anywhere near the stoner Reggie Crawley’s bedroom is as likely as Simon growing a conscience.

Anyway, they bring it on themselves. If people didn’t lie and cheat, I’d be out of business. Simon’s cold blue eyes take in my strides. Where are you rushing off to? Covering yourself in extracurricular glory?

I wish. An alert crosses my phone:

    Mathlete practice at three.

Followed by a text from my fellow teammate Evans.

Of course, he is attending. The cute mathlete-less of an oxymoron than you might think-seems only to show up when I can’t.

    Not exactly, I say.

As a general rule, and especially lately, I try and give Simon as little information as possible. We push through green metal doors to the back stairs, a dividing line between the old Greendale High corridor and its fresh new building.

Simon’s still on my heels when I reach Mr Lewis’s lab on the third floor and I half turn with my arms crossed.

Don’t you have someplace to be?

Yeah detention, Simon says, and waits for me to keep walking. When I grab the door handle instead, he bursts out laughing.

You’re kidding me. You too? What’s your crime?

I’m wrongly accused, I mutter, and yank the door open.

Three other students are already seated, and I pause to see who is sitting in front of me. Not
