After You Seduce Me - Part 2 - E.J. Adams

    Chapter One

I felt like I was in a bad dream. I stood beside the man I had promised to marry while  another woman tried to destroy our future happiness.

Gina Arlotti was a woman from Brandon's past. Gina claimed that she and Brandon were legally married. She also claimed that Brandon had a ten-year-old son with her. Gina seemed hell bent on using the situation to gain more than what would be her fair share of support for their son. What most troubled me was that Gina seemed to be taking pleasure in the situation. As for me, I was still trying to catch my breath and gain some semblance of composure.

I will have my lawyer contact you, Gina said to Brandon.

Wait, replied Brandon. What is his name? Assuming he is my son, I at least should know his name.

Antonio, replied Gina. Here. She handed Brandon a picture. We'll be in touch.

With that, she turned and left Brandon's office. Brandon looked down at the picture and then he placed it on his desk.

I was still reeling from the news. Ten minutes before, we had been choosing our Save-the-Date stationary. I wish I had never heard of Gina Arlotti. But, if it were all true . . . I didn't know what we were going to do.

Let me see, I said to Brandon as I held out my hand for the photograph.

He handed it to me. I looked at the face of a handsome boy that bore a definite resemblance to Brandon when he was a child. The picture, of course, was not definitive proof. But I already had a sinking feeling about what the paternity test results would show.

What are we going to do? I asked as I wiped tears from my eyes.

We will see what her lawyers have to say . . . what her demands are going to be. Then we will take it from there.

Brandon was shocked, to say the least, but he was calm. He had a steel look in his eyes. People didn't push Brandon around. If Antonio was his son then Brandon would, at the very least, make sure he was taken care of with the finest of everything. If Brandon and Gina's marriage had not been annulled, Brandon would fight to make sure that an annulment happened. None of that changed the fact that all of what I had learned was troubling.

Why didn't you tell me? I asked.

About Antonio? I obviously didn't know. I may have been a playboy, but I would certainly make sure any child I had would be well provided for.

I know that about you. That's not what I meant. Why didn't you tell me about the marriage?

Ashley, I already told you. I thought that it had been annulled the very next day. I really haven't thought about it since then.

So it didn't cross your mind once in the past four years? You didn't think it might be worth mentioning when you were thinking of asking me to marry you?

Brandon shook his head. No. It didn't. I was drunk and foolish when it happened. It wasn't a real marriage in my mind. I never would have gone through with it if I hadn't been high as a kite. It meant nothing and was over within twenty-four hours.

Seriously? How hard it would it have been to say 'Hey, Ashley, it was nothing, but once when I was drunk I got married for a day. I had it annulled . . . '

Ashley, please. Are we going to litigate this? I think we have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Brandon was all business. You don't get to be an alpha billionaire without having a bit of an edge to you. I loved Brandon. He was kind and generous.

Brandon was the man of my dreams. But there was also no denying that he had that edge to him. When he was all about business, he could get an extreme tunnel vision that could make him insensitive to matters beyond what was directly in front of him.

    So my feelings don't matter?

    "Ashley, I didn't say
