Song of the Brave - Gracie Wilson

Here I am sitting in this empty room wondering what the hell am I going to do. When I glance down, I can see the letter with Charlie <3 written on it. I haven’t been able to open the letter, but I haven’t been able to put it down either.

Marley walks over and shoves me with his head, moving my hands from my lap so he can lay his head down on me. I reach out, rubbing his head.

Marley, what are we going to do? I ask.

He just looks at me with his big blue eyes and nudges my hand. The one with the letter in it. I know he can’t possibly know what this letter is, but a piece of me feels that he’s telling me to listen to Lacey.

Don’t let me down Kido, Momma and I are watching. Take the money, my Charlie girl. Live the life you deserve. The life I want for you.

And Charlotte…I love you, and that’s why I want to take care of you. Please let me.

Forever your biggest fan (minus your momma, as we are tied in our parental pride).

    Be Brave,

    Lacey
