    I was way too old for parties. My boyfriend knew this, and that’s why he made it a surprise. Now, for most people, a surprise party for your 25th birthday was nice. Exciting, even. But most people aren’t sexually aroused by balloons.

    And Avery got balloons for the occasion. Lots of balloons.

    It’s like walking into a room filled with your favorite variety of porn plastered all over the walls. Also your grandma is there, along with a dozen other people you know. In a word: awkward.
