About this ebook
It's easy to take him with me, but again that is a problem too.
"What are you, Sapphira? No who are you? I don't even know what to ask you. What did I see today? It doesn't make sense. I need to process this; I don't understand any of this." He said all in one breathe.
I am the princess of the mermaid world and also the future queen. I arrive in the human world along with my best friend and protector Armanian, to prove that I am worthy to be the princess. Basically, it's just a year that I have to live in this world and cope up with everything. Not much a problem to me, since she loves these people already. But the one thing that was not planned was me meeting with my soul mate.
I am just a normal guy with a normal life as much as a foster child can have. I have started living with my friend, but then at college I meet up with a beautiful girl. One, who I felt was made for me, her beautiful blue eyes played some kind of charm on me. But she never wears anything but blue. Later I get to know why, I don't know what to do, should I leave her or should I stay?

My One Unexpected Love - Jess Winters
Preface
Being the princess of the largest mermaid kingdom was not something that was very easy to handle. You had to learn all sorts of manners, ball dances and wear heavy clothing everywhere you went. But worst of all, was to never fall in love before you meet your designated mate. How stupid was that? How can you control your heart for who it will decide to beat?
I had to complete the task of being in the human world trying to cope. I wondered how they would be like; I mean I have seen humans and even talked to them once or twice but nothing too serious. When I left with Armanian, I had thought of it as just a task to get along with them, and that I will be back within a year. It was so easy. But boy, was I wrong. How do you handle it when your mate is a human and you’re a mermaid? Something worth experiencing, isn’t it?
Chapter-1
Princess, are you ready to leave?
Mahika, my maid, asked me this as she stood in the doorway of my room.
Mahi, I already told you to stop calling me princess. You are going to stay with me in the human world. Think, what the others will think if they hear you call me princess. Call me Sapphira, it’s not that hard.
I said, as I started walking out of the door with Mahi in tow.
My long dress trailed behind me as I walked in the orderly way a princess should. My diamond and sapphire studded gold tiara, stood proudly in my platinum blond hair. My hair was so pale that sometimes it resembled white. All mer-people have light colored hair but the hair and skin color of the primary and most royal family cannot be compared to anyone else; it was the lightest of them all.
My mother and father stood on the doorway to our palace. Our kingdom lay hidden underneath the water; it had a protective covering around it which did not let normal people see or feel it. Only mer-people can find it and enter. Inside the palace, I was a human but just as I would enter the water, I would change.
Sapphira, sweetheart,
my mom started, but then she burst out crying. I hugged her as tight as she said,
I am going to miss you. Be the princess we taught you to be. Please don’t get into trouble.
She sobbed. I am going to miss her too, but I won’t say that in fear that I will start crying like her.
My mother removed herself from me as my father approached.
All grown up I see,
Father smiled adoringly at me, I am not going to give you advice on how to live your life in the human world. Have fun and live this time of your life as much as you can because this one year cannot be replaced.
He caught hold of my shoulders, and I could see tears starting to form in his eyes. But he immediately blinked them away and hugged me to him. I couldn’t control myself anymore as a few drops of tears escaped my eyes. Finally, once we said our goodbyes, I took a last look at my parents standing in the doorway; my father with his arm protectively wrapped around my mother. She was still crying with her hands pressed against her heart. I turned around and walked out into the water where my bodyguard, Armanian was floating with his tail slowly moving in the water. Besides being my guard, he was also my childhood friend. I loved him to bits.
Just as I touched the water, my legs disappeared; it was replaced with my cerulean blue, long scaly fish tail. My dress
