Annalynn the Canadian Spy - Shawn P. B. Robinson

    Dedication and Thanks

To my wife, who likes my books even though they are silly.

To my sons, Liam and Ezra. You are awesome. And I love you both.

To everyone name Ern. I don’t know if there are many of you out there, but you and everyone named Elbornee are some of my favourite people.

To my Canadian heritage, even though it gets cold in Canada at times. I love being Canadian.

Now, ya gotta understand somethin’ here... this book is a work of fiction. That means it’s made up. Characters/places/etc. do not represent anything else. It’s a fun book.

So don’t go making up meanings and interpretations and what not. That’s just not cool, okay?

Everything is fiction in this book.

    Preface

I LIKE THE IDEA OF being a spy. Well... that’s not entirely true. I like the idea of dreaming about being a spy. I’m far too unwilling to engage in espionage. I find it... sneaky. I’m not a particularly sneaky person.

So I hope this book gives you an opportunity to consider the idea of dreaming about being a spy. That’s fun.

    Annalynn Meets Celine

Annalynn dove under a branch and rolled to a stop, quickly jumping to her feet. She turned and crouched low, ready for an attack and ready to move.

She scanned the area ahead for enemies, but no one was in sight. She had to be careful. She could not be seen.

Ten-year-old Annalynn wore camouflage pants and shirt. On her head was a hat, covered in twigs and branches, hiding her light blond hair. On her face, she had spread green and black paint.

If she stood still, she was nearly invisible. No one could see her. She was the perfect spy, able to sneak in and out without anyone knowing she was there.

    Hi, Annalynn!

Annalynn turned quickly and stood up. Celine! I’m training for spy missions! You can’t just come out here and announce where I am!

Celine was Annalynn’s younger sister. She liked to smile, she liked to play, and she liked to sneak outside while her bigger sister was training.

Just a short while ago, Annalynn had been hired by CSIS. CSIS stood for Canadian Security Intelligence Service. CSIS was the name of the Canadian Spy Agency. Annalynn had been
