Anthony Dixon

In the timeless words of Henry Brooks Adams, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” Embracing this profound wisdom, I believe that a life well-lived is one marked by the continuous exchange of knowledge and wisdom. As the author, I echo the sentiment that if you’ve journeyed through life without imparting something meaningful to the next generation, be it through teaching or learning, you’ve merely existed, not truly lived. Through my writings, I aspire to contribute to the tapestry of wisdom, leaving an imprint that resonates beyond the confines of time. I have written over five hundred Blogs, many dealing with Parenting, Relationships and Safe Driving with the hope that someone will benefit from them. Facebook inspired me to start writing, my first Blog sixty words long was posted on Facebook. From that day on I knew that Social media was a tool to share Knowledge. In the process of writing this Book, I have learned that you can face life, no matter what it throws at you. It’s all about resiliency of the human spirit.

    Time to make a change

Okay, you have chosen to buy this eBook because you have reached a certain point in your life where you have to make a change. Things can no longer go on as they are and you are stuck in a rut. Remember, you can make a change at any age whether you are ten years old or you are eighty years old. You have the power to make changes in your life and head in a different direction. Let’s take a look at the possible points in life that you may be at.

    Still at college or university

You’ve picked an area of study but you are still undecided about your future career and long term goals. You are heavily in debt due to study fees and feel there is a lack of opportunities out there.

    You have dependents

Perhaps you are a single parent with children and you are in a position where you have to work away from home to feed your young family. You don’t have any time to see your children. Or, you have to fund your teenage children’s study and you know you will have thousands of pounds of debt.

    You hate your job

This is the most common reason for wanting to make a change as it was for me when I wanted to get out of the nine to five and become an entrepreneur.

    Something is holding you back

This could be anything from a disability, age, sex, religion or illness that might be putting you in a bad situation or time in your life.

    Boredom

Another motivator for people who want to make a change is being bored with the current plight you are in. Bored with the same job, bored with working with the same people, bored with your lifestyle, bored with your friends, all this adds up to a desperate need to make a change.

    Bored with retirement

Along the lines of general boredom but there are many older people that are bored and doing nothing in retirement. As I have said, you can make a change at any age. So what if you have reached retirement age, you can do what you want.

    Lack of guidance

There is nobody to tell you what direction to take. What is my purpose in life? What job should I take? What kind of business should I start? This can be a time of self-doubt and insecurity about who you are and what you should be doing. You will also have the question ‘How do I do it?" This is especially true if you are fresh out of college and you don’t have the experience.

    About the author’s experience

I have been working from home for five years now with the intention to start small businesses from scratch. This has been a long process to where I am now with several small businesses in operation all run from my home office! I plan to do more businesses in the future providing I have the time to fit them all in.

My journey started when I was in my mid-20s and depressed with my job and the long hours. I knew I wanted out but it took a long time to completely escape the rat race and move into full-time entrepreneurship. I was still taking bad jobs right through to my early 30s until I decided enough was enough and took the plunge. Making a decision to change is scary and it is the fear of the unknown that can hold you back.

I had millions of ideas running through my head about businesses I could start and run. Some involved huge capital, some low capital. Some ideas
