The Light - Bharat Somal
Golden Q & A Session
Vedic Dharma(set of natural rules) also known as Hinduism in modern day is the only Dharma on planet earth which can save this planet and its species, it is based on logic\reasoning and has no place for any kind of superstitious belief system. It definitely does not have place for ‘I believe that’ or ‘I believe in’ which are personal choices without any experiment or authority backing it. Most of the humans abiding by their own personal belief systems have acquired this either from parents or society. Such approach develops selfishness, cunningness, shrewdness, corruption and lying like qualities in most of the individuals practicing it. For example, Hindus are taught by parents since early age of 2-3 yrs. that they should bow in front of Idol which is created by human being, kids should offer money and food to Idol so they can get their wish completed. If they do anything wrong, then they must apologize to Idol and perform some fast etc to either come over the wrong or get some wish completed by Idol. Such a kid by default develops qualities of selfishness and corruption etc. The truth has already been discovered millions of years back by sages of antiquity by proper experimentation. Below questions will help anyone to gain quick understanding of Hinduism in one week.
Q.1: Who or what is the SPC?
A: The SPC(Supreme Psychic Consciousness) is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, just and pure bliss. He\She or It(As consciousness does not have any gender) will not violate any of these attributes and because of these attributes, he or she is called God(by common man but enlightened sages does not call it by any name as such), we will call this consciousness as he or she as common man associates to SPC by gender easily.
He(SPC) is the greatest scientist, doctor, lawyer, creator of all-natural laws and rules. He(SPC) does not defy his own laws, he cannot kill himself, burn or drown himself, create another SPC like himself as he is not dependent on anyone or any angels to do his job. Dependency will violate his property of omnipotence. He is self-sufficient in himself and is the biggest and greatest planner and organizer. That is why he is called the SPC as he is perfect and has no fault in him. He is beyond maya or illusion if he is impacted by Maya then he is no more omnipotent. He is beyond emotions and feelings as he is sat-chit-anand(bliss) in himself. Those who meditate on his attributes gain those attributes and communicate with him.
Q.2: Are the SPC and Soul the same or different?
A: Different, they are two different entities. The relationship between them is like pervader and pervaded. All souls are pervaded by the SPC.
Q.3: Can souls become the SPC?
A: Never. Souls, when meditating on the SPC gain power like the SPC but can never become the SPC. They finally get liberated and float in pure bliss in the SPC. After getting dissolved even in SPC, they maintain their identity. Thus, they are different entities always. Have you ever seen any soul, making universal or natural laws, or any sage or enlightened being doing all this? Yes, they gain miraculous power to change atoms into matter or control over praana but they can never make praana or natural laws.
Q.4: Has this universe proceeded from the SPC or from something else?
A: The SPC is the efficient cause of this universe, but the material cause is Prakriti-- Primordial Elementary Matter. This has already been explained in section above.
In the beginning, the whole was enveloped in utter darkness. Nothing was discernible. It was like a dark night, Matter was in its very elementary form. It was like ether. The whole universe, completely overspread by darkness, was insignificantly small compared with the Infinite SPC who thereafter, by his omnipotence, evolved this cosmic world - the, effect - out of the elementary matter - the cause.
[Rigveda 10:129, 3]
He who has created this multiform universe, and is the cause of its sustenance as well as dissolution, the Lord of the universe in whom the whole world exists, is sustained and then resolved into elementary condition, is the Supreme Spirit. Know him, O man, to be your SPC and believe in no other as the Creator of the universe.
[Rigveda 10:126, 8]
Love and worship that Supreme Spirit, O men, Who is the support of all the luminous bodies (such as the sun), the one Incomparable Lord of the present as well as of the future worlds, Who existed even before the world came into being, and has created all things that exist in space between the earth and heaven.
[Rigveda 10:121, 1]
Q.5: Has Prakriti emanated from the SPC?
A: No, Prakriti is eternal. The SPC is Consciousness and Prakriti is inert, dead matter. Dead matter cannot come out of consciousness, only consciousness with property of consciousness can emanate from SPC.
The SPC is not a magician. He is the most logical in the universe. The mathematician of all mathematicians, the master of all science; he is the Celestial Scientist
who used celestial mechanics to create this universe.
That Supreme Spirit, from whom all things proceed and in whom they live and perish, is the All-pervading SPC. Aspire, O men, to know him.
[Taitreya Upanishad-Bhrigu, 1]
O Men know that All-Pervading Being alone is the Lord of the imperishable Prakriti – the material cause of the world - and of the soul and is yet distinct from both. He is the Creator of the universe - the past, present and the future.
[Yajurveda 21: 2]
That Great SPC should be sought after, who is the cause of the Creation, the sustenance and dissolution of this universe.
[Vedaant Shaastra I.1, 2]
Q.6: How many entities are eternal or beginning less?
A: Three, the SPC, the Soul and the Prakriti (Matter). This has been explained briefly and logically in the above sections.SPC is pure consciousness and from consciousness only pure consciousness can come out but as SPC is omnipresent so nothing can come out of it as it is everywhere. We know that soul has feelings like anger, sorrow, hunger, selfishness etc , if we consider souls created by SPC then SPC should have these negative attributes and will not be considered GOD. Thus, soul is eternal entity in itself because it cannot come out of SPC and primordial matter which is inert. From matter one cannot create consciousness as from non-living one cannot create a living object. Thus, three entities are eternal SPC, soul and primordial matter.
Q.7: What is your authority for the SPC, Soul and Prakriti to be eternal?
A: This has been already explained with logic and reasoning, "Both the SPC and the Soul are eternal. They are alike in Consciousness and other attributes. They are associated together. The SPC pervades the Soul and both are mutual companions. Prakriti is like multifarious tree branches, out of which whole universes emanate, goes back into its elementary form at the time of dissolution and is eternal. The characters, attributes and nature of these three are also eternal.
Of the two--the SPC and the Soul--the Soul reaps the fruits of its karma by using Prakriti under the influence of the SPC. When it comes out of the grip of karma, it becomes one with the SPC. The Soul reaps based on the Law of Karma created by the SPC , while the SPC does not.
He is the All-Glorious Being who shines within, without and all around.
[Rigveda I, 164, 20]
The Great SPC - the King - revealed all kinds of knowledge to the human soul – his eternal subjects - through the Veda.
[Yajurveda 50, 8]
The Prakriti, the Soul and the SPC, all of them, are untreated. They are the cause of the whole universe. They have no cause of the whole universe. They have no beginning and have been existing eternally. The eternal Soul enjoys the eternal Matter and is wrapped up in it while the SPC neither enjoys it, nor is he wrapped up in it.
[Shweta Shwater Upanishad].
Here we shall explain the properties of Prakriti.
That condition of matter in which the intellect-promoting (satva - high), passion-exciting (rajas - medium) and resistance producing (Tamas - low) qualities are found combined in equal proportions is called Prakriti. From Prakriti emanated the principle of wisdom (Mahat-Mahatt-M Field), and from the latter proceeded the Principle of Individuality (Ahamkaara-A Field), from which emanated the five subtle entities and the ten Principles of Sensation and Action, and the Manas, the Principle of Attention. From the five subtle entities originate the five Gross entities, such as solids and liquids. These twenty-four entities and the purush, i.e., the spirit - human and divine - form a group of twenty-five noumena.
[Sankhya Shastra 1: 61]
Of all these twenty-four, the Prakriti is uncreated, the Principle of Wisdom, the Principle of Individuality, and the five subtle entities are the products of the Prakriti and are in their turn the cause of the ten Principles of Sensation, and Action and of the Principle of Attention. The purush - i.e., the spirit - is neither the cause (material) nor the effect of anything.
Q.8: Please explain if we have any relationship between the SPC, the Soul and Prakriti?
A: Prakriti, or Primordial Matter, has spread across the universe and the SPC pervades everything, both Soul and Matter. He is inside every vibration, field or atom, molecule, or vibration, but only two entities are conscious: Supreme Psychic Consciousness (the SPC) and Soul only a conscious entity can realize another conscious entity. The SPC already knows you, but the Soul is not aware that father or mother is inside it. So the SPC is all pervading.
Now, as to the relationship between the Soul and Prakriti, Prakriti in PM (Primordial Matter) form has all properties of a sleep mode. Nothing is active. The full knowledge of Prakriti is inside Prakriti. This is like a grand puzzle whose wisdom is known only to the SPC. All Subtle Vibrations are not in known form, and cannot be detected by any instrument.
The Soul is also in a dormant state and has an astral or Subtle Body made up of the same PM around it. This body is the carrier which takes the Soul from one birth to another birth. Thus the Soul, Prakriti and the SPC all are inter-related but still they are three independent entities. This is from eternity. You will learn about this astral body at the right place in this book when we start with Soul and human body creation. For the time being, remember these three main entities.
The SPC, the Soul, and Prakriti are three eternal entities and are inter-related, so that the SPC manages the Soul and Prakriti. The Soul is free to act but works under the Law of Karma created by the SPC. It is free to act, but the results of its actions are in the SPC’s hand.
Q.9: How many causes are there of the universe?
A: Three - The efficient, the material and the common. The efficient cause is one based on whose action the universe comes in place and based on his discretion, the universe dissolves. It does not change itself, though it triggers changes inside Prakriti and invokes the knowledge residing inside Prakriti. The material cause is one without which nothing can be made. It undergoes transformation and is transient in nature. The cause is one that is instrumental in the making of a thing, and is common to many things. The efficient cause is of two kinds:
The primary efficient cause is the Supreme Spirit - the master, generator, operator and destroyer of all, who creates the universe out of Prakriti, sustains it, and then dissolves it into its elementary form.
The secondary efficient cause is the Soul. It utilizes different materials out of the universe created by the SPC and transforms them into the desired form.
The material cause is the Prakriti, which is the material used in the making of the universe. Just as bricks are used by many to make houses and without bricks, wood or other building materials it’s not possible to come up with a house, in the same way the SPC utilizes Prakriti to come up with the grand universe. Prakriti is devoid of intelligence and cannot make or unmake itself, as it is inert.
Just as the builder cannot stand in front of bricks or wood and make a house by thinking, in the same way the SPC cannot make the universe out of nothing, as everything in the universe has to come out of something. Thus the SPC creates all objects in this universe in the beginning and during the course of the universe by his will. Humans can also create material from Prakriti, but they cannot create it from Primordial Matter.
Take the illustration of a pot. The potter is its efficient cause, clay its material cause, while the rod, the wheel and other instruments, time, space, light, eyes, hands of the potter, knowledge and the necessary labor, all constitute its common cause. Nothing can be made or unmade without these three causes.
The Advaita Vedantists consider the SPC as the efficient, as well as the material cause of the universe and this is where the whole philosophy of Advaita Vedanta falls apart.
‘Yatha sataha purushatkeshalomani tatha’ksharatsambhavateeha vishvam.’
[Mundaka Upanishad: 1/1/7]
Just as a spider does not take in anything from outside, but draws out filaments from its body with which it spins its web and sports about in it, so does the SPC evolves the world out of his own self, becomes metamorphosed into it, and enjoys himself.
[Mundaka Upanishad I: 1, 7]
Here the spider does make out filament out of its body but the spider has a soul and it is also utilizing the matter to make a web. Let’s check first how the soul is interacting with matter.
Spiders have special glands that secrete silk proteins which are nothing but a chain of amino acids dissolved in a water-based solution. The spider pushes the liquid solution through long ducts leading to minuscule spigots on the spider’s spinnerets. These are located on the rear of the abdomen. Each spigot has a valve controlling the thickness and the speed of the protruded material. As the spigots pull the protein molecule out of
