    ACT I

    LINDA OFF:

This is the story between a gay man and his church. Everything began with an unfinished mass…

    SAMUEL OFF:

Lord, I am not worthy to receive you…

    FADE DO WHITE…

    1. INTERIOR – CHURCH – DAY.

Samuel presides the mass, the church is full, something unusual because most of the masses the church is half empty.

    SAMUEL:

… But only say the word and I shall be healed

Suddenly, a blonde girl wearing an overcoat stands in the middle of the church and then opens it, she is naked, and in her breast, she wrote: The church hides the truth about the pedophile among priests.

Samuel stops. He can’t stop looking at the girl, not because of her body, but the words she says…

    GIRL:

My seven-year-old brother was raped for months by a priest! But the authorities and the church remain in silence!

The women inside cover their eyes, some of them cover their ears. Some men look at the girl with a naughty smile on their mouths.

Samuel is petrified; he does not know what to do.

Suddenly, a policeman taps the girl like a bull in heat.

Woman and police fall to the ground, the girl's head bounces twice on the cold ground. The policeman gives punches her in the face. The audience applauds him.

    POLICEMAN:

Father, please continue with the mass…

But Samuel runs to His office.

    CUT TO…

    2. INTERIOR – OFFICE – DAY.

Samuel is crying with his head above the deck. On his right hand, he has a half-empty glass of red wine.

Suddenly, someone knocks the door: Father, father, are you ok? Asked a woman with a Latin accent.

    SAMUEL:

    (Cleaning up his tears)

    Yes, yes… I am alright… Tell everyone that… I‘ll come out in a minute

Don’t worry father, everyone is gone, they understood you, but I need to talk to you She said.

    SAMUEL:

    Ok, come in…

Laura, the woman who helps Samuel reading the bible in the masses enters.

    SAMUEL:

    (Hiding the glass)

    So, everyone is gone?

    LAURA:

Yes, father, the police came and arrested the girl. But I want to talk to you…

    SAMUEL:

    Tell me! (He sits down)

    LAURA:

Look, father, my prayer group is worried about the group you have

    SAMUEL:

    My group?

    LAURA:

Yes, father, the one who comes here every afternoon to talk to you

    SAMUEL:

Oh! I see… what is the problem with them?

    LAURA:

What’s the problem? Father, they’re gay!

    SAMUEL:

    So?

    LAURA:

SO! They shouldn’t be inside the church…

    SAMUEL:

    Why not?

    LAURA:

Because they're gay! And one of them is a… Jew!

    SAMUEL:

    (Standing up)

Look, Laura! I have a lot of things in my mind right now. I just try to help those boys; they’re being discriminated by their friends and family…

    LAURA:

Yes, father, I understand that… but could you that in other some other place, and not here in holy ground…

    SAMUEL:

    No.

    LAURA:

    Why not?

    SAMUEL:

You said it by yourself, this is holy ground, the house of God, and everyone is welcome here

    LAURA:

    Well, they shouldn’t

    SAMUEL:

    (Walking to the door)

Well, now that I know your concern, I’ll see what I can do.

Slowly, she stands up and walks to the door.

    LAURA:

    Thank you, father

    SAMUEL:

    Thank you, see you tomorrow.

    CUT TO…

    3. INTERIOR – BUS – DAY.

Samuel is sitting on a bus, the priest is thoughtful; he has his head resting on the bus window with his eyes lost in the city traffic.

Suddenly something catches his attention; in front of a cemetery, there is a group of Christian protesters. A homosexual person is being buried, and they’re protesting with offensive banners because they don’t want to let him be buried in a Christian cemetery. Samuel lifts his head and gets up quickly, and then demands the driver to stop.

    CUT TO…

    4. EXTERIOR – CEMETERY – DAY.

Quickly, Samuel gets down of the bus, and then he confronts the group, he destroys some offensive banners.

    SAMUEL:

What the hell are you doing?! This is unchristian! This is an act of evil; let the soul of this man rest in peace!

A catholic priest defending fags?! a man
