Determined to unravel the truth, Samuel embarks on a perilous journey with Professor Michel Spence, an archaeology expert who shares his fascination with the mysteries of the universe. But as they delve deeper into the unknown, they realize that the risks are greater than they ever imagined.

With a relentless enemy on their heels and the fate of Earth hanging in the balance, Samuel and Professor Spence must use all their wits and expertise to uncover the secrets of the past and save humanity's future. But as they uncover the truth about Earth's origins, they must also confront the possibility that their very existence may be the result of a failed experiment.

"Not Our Home" is a thrilling tale of discovery and adventure that will leave readers questioning everything they thought they knew about their place in the universe.

    Chapter 1  ———————Accidental heritage

    ––––––––

In 24 hours, the planet will be struck by an asteroid so giant and coming so fast that the only thing that can be done is to evacuate the planet. By now, most had left the planet and were on their way to other planets. There were also massive ships moving entire units and companies.

They had been moving the labs, but for some reason, they were not taking the new experiments that they had been doing with less evolved beings. They were trying to accelerate their progress. Now they would have to start over. One of the scientists quickly scooped up six test tubes and put them among his personal belongings. He was not going to start over.

Finally, it looked like the last of the ships were loaded with whatever the ones in charge deemed important or not important. Once everyone was on and everything was loaded, the doors shut, and they left for a new world. Most knew where they were going, but it still would not be the same.

As the asteroid got closer to the planet, some of the ships stopped a good way off to watch the destruction of their beautiful home. However, things didn't go as they normally should have; the asteroid hit the planet so hard and fast that it knocked it out of its orbit and out into space. The ones watching couldn’t believe their eyes. Their planet was gone. Not destroyed, but gone

It was Samuel's first year of university; he was a little nervous but way more excited. He had already met some cool people. He was supposed to go to a small party later that night. There was no way he was going to miss it. It was his first party ever, and he had never done anything like that before. He only liked a few things: to learn, study, build, and experiment. So this would be something new.

As he was getting ready, his old buddy Nate came into the room. Hey there, Sammy, are we up for a good time tonight or what? Nate hollered.

I sure hope so, Samuel said.

Aw, come on, spice it up a bit, Nate said. You're acting as if you've been to a million of these, Samuel joked.

We both know I haven't, and that’s why I'm so pumped up, Nate said.

Yeah, me too, Samuel said with a laugh.

Once Samuel was ready, they left the dorm. Since the party was only a few blocks away, they decided to walk. Some of these guys are a bit strange, though, Nate said.

    Ya, but they are geniuses.

Nate, geniuses are always a little eccentric, Samuel said. Nate laughed. So I've noticed, he said.

They were almost at the house, but it didn’t look like there was a party going on. It looks pretty calm over there, Sammy, Nate said.

    That's good, right? Samuel asked.

I don’t know, Nate replied. They went up to the door and knocked. A short woman with the curliest hair Samuel had ever seen and the reddest eyes answered the door. She was smiling from ear to ear. Come on in, she said in the quietest voice. They walked in behind her.

Tyler and Jeff saw them walk in right away and called them over. As Samuel and Nate approached them, they noticed that everyone was calmly wasted. Samuel liked that, Nate not so much.

Maybe we should just leave, Sam, Nate said.

No way, I am staying, at least for a bit, Samuel said.

Sammy, Nate, you boys made it right on, Tyler said. Jeff was already handing Samuel and Nate each a large drink.

Here boys, drink up; we've got some rum for you right here, Jeff said.

Sit, boys, sit, Tyler said. They both sat down and started talking. They sat there for hours, never having to get up; the drinks were being brought to them. Then Samuel had to use the washroom, but when he got up, he realized how much he had to drink. He did make it to the washroom, but the effort was way too much, he thought. But he felt really good; he felt so sharp; he loved the conversations they were having; and he felt comfortable. He didn't at first; when they kept bringing them drinks, he assumed there would be a set-up, but so far he felt safe; in fact, it felt like home; it was
