    Lucifer's Revelations - E.C. Fisher

    Chapter One

And he who was seated on the throne said, Behold, I am making all things new. Also he said, Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

    - Revelation 21:5

    The Beginning

F ather, what has kept you so restless these past few days? Lucifer asked as he observed God toiling away in the Room of Creation.

My son, I have been making great strides on my latest creation, the gentle disembodied voice of God answered.

In the center of the room was an enormous black translucent orb. Lucifer cautiously approached to obtain a better view of its contents. Inside were swirling stars and galaxies. The orb was the result of the Big Bang.

What is it that I am looking at, Father? Lucifer asked, puzzled, yet eager to learn about this new creation.

The development of the Universe, my son.

    What is a ‘Universe’?

In simple terms, wonderment. I am building the beginning and the end. Life and Death.

Why have you decided to take this on Father?

I simply can so therefore I shall. Re-creation… for the time being.

With that Lucifer left Father to continue on working. The very next day he came back to check on the latest developments on Father’s new creation.

Good day, Father. How fares your Universe?

Son, I have produced a source of abundant light. I shall call it ‘Sun’. I have also created night. But it is extremely dark so I will construct the ‘Moon’. The sun will provide its radiance and the moon will illuminate the twilight. Do you see it?

Lucifer peered into the blackness of the universe. Deep within he discovered the space God was referring to. There was a small orange orb surrounded by nine other spheres of varied proportions.

I see them. What is the significance of this?

"The orbs surrounding the sun are called ‘Planets’. One planet, in particular, is my focus. You see the third planet from the sun. I shall call it ‘Earth’.

This planet looks different from the rest.

I have formed Earth, ocean, and air. From the Earth below to the Heavens above, and everything in-between. I’ve filled the ocean with life and allowed it to flourish and multiply. I filled the Earth with animals that creep and slither and allowed it to flourish and multiply. I filled the sky with creatures that soar through it to grow and multiply.

This is the life you speak of, Father?

Yes, my son, and it is good.

Lucifer departed once again. The passion that Father had was rubbing off onto Lucifer as he left with a grin on his face.

The next day arrived and Lucifer entered the Room of Creation ready to learn what other marvels were being constructed.

Good day, Father. How fares the Earth this day?

All the creatures that crawl, slither, swim, or fly on this Earth are good. But I noticed something was missing. So from the dust that makes up the Earth, the clay of life, I have breathed life into a creation called ‘Man’. I shall call him Adam. God showed Lucifer the clay model of a male in his natural form. The model had the same underlying framework as himself but without the graceful wings he had on his back.

What a disfigured form. Father created a grotesque creature. This man is wingless, Father. What purpose does that serve?

I used my wings to create ‘The Sword of the Spirit’ that Michael holds. This imperfection in this creation will be their defining moment.

    There is more? Their?

Yes. I decided he would be lonesome living on the Earth all by himself, so I made from his rib, another being which I named ‘Woman’. A second clay model appeared next to the first. The build was similar, yet remarkably diverse. The woman had long hair, ample bosom, and curves that the man clearly didn’t possess. She will be his partner in this life. I shall call her Eve.

Father created all this for them. These… imperfect creatures. Be grateful for what you have been gifted, Adam and Eve.

Yes. I have established a lush garden for them to occupy.

He provided them a paradise. What makes them so deserving? What is the name of this garden?

The Garden of Eden. They will be allowed to grow and multiply. They will have sovereignty over the creatures that roam, swim, or fly on Earth.

Undoubtedly they will love you as greatly as we do, Father.

    This will be their choice.

"I must beg your mercy, Father, but what do you mean ‘their choice?’

I have given them something I’d like to call ‘Free Will’. They will either love me or loathe me, the decision is totally up to them, but I will cherish them nevertheless. I will be forgiving and trust them no matter how they act out. For I will be a patient God.

Free will! You give them so much yet ask for nothing in return. I do not consider this to be a good quality for them to possess, Father. They will deceive you. You will suffer from this judgment.

That may occur, Lucifer, but I am prepared for that possibility.

With this Lucifer left Father alone. My love for Him stands above all others. These vile creatures cannot be. I must do something. For Father.

This was Lucifer's turning point. He was embroiled in hatred.

On the day of Lucifer’s fall, he went and checked on Father, he watched as anguished tears rolled down Father’s face; the universe he designed and those spiteful humans must have been the cause. His anger came to a boil as he stormed off to rid Father of the creatures who hurt him so.

    At the edge of Heaven

Lucifer, stop, Michael exclaimed. He held the Sword of the Spirit up to Lucifer’s throat, poised to press the tip of the sword even closer in just to make a point.

The Archangel Michael, who stands at the Right Hand of God. Was the first angel and their leader. He had been given the Sword of the Spirit; a weapon created by the silken heft of Father’s wings. A blade whose sole purpose was to protect, but when required, could conquer and destroy any being in its path.

The sword’s handle and handguard were made from smooth gold. The hilt from pure white feathers overlapping one another in a shiny, clean double-edged, medium-length blade. The wing size of an angel reflected their love toward God.

"You wish to cut me. For them?" He spit the words out.

I follow the orders of Father. You shall accompany me back from whence you came and stand before him. Dare move in an attempt to fall from Heaven and I will cut you down where you stand.

    Very well.

Lucifer turned back and rocketed through Heaven back to the throne of God with Michael behind him maintaining a clear distance, so he could see if he chose to move against orders. The other angels were surrounding the foyer before the throne which was enclosed by a transparent veil. Just the silhouette of the throne could be identified through it. Lucifer landed in the midst of the crowd taking three strides before collapsing to a knee before the throne. Michael landed opposite him and bowed down.

I’ve brought Lucifer before you, Father.

Thank you, my son. Lucifer, justify your actions.

I simply wish to crush the creatures which have caused you considerable suffering, Father, Lucifer explained while holding his head demurely down.

Did you forget, my son? I am prepared for their doubts and anger toward me. However, your actions go against my strict orders. Humanity is to be looked after and observed. Not threatened or meddled with by my children.

Lucifer stood up in protest, You gave them Free Will, all while we are commanded to love you, regardless of our own emotions. And while I maintain the profoundest love for you, why is it I who must endure because of humanity?

It appears mere words will not convince you any longer. It grieves me to do this but it must be done. Michael.

At Father’s words, Michael rose up. Several angels appeared beside Lucifer and seized him. Another group grasped his wings and spread them out. Michael held his sword and prepared to strip Lucifer of his wings.

You blindly follow even an order such as this, brother?

I am his right-hand. I punish everyone who stands against Father, be they brother or not.

Michael raised the sword. Lucifer let out a deafening scream as Michael sliced them off his back. He was left crippled and lying prostrate before God, Lucifer wept.

I cast you out of Heaven. You shall not enter this hallowed hall ever again. God proclaimed with an air of finality.

I shall walk in front of you again. Best be prepared. I am not finished yet, not by a long shot. Lucifer cursed.

Lucifer had been cast out of Heaven and he wouldn’t be seen again until the day he attacked Heaven’s Gate.

At the same time Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, wandered the Garden of Eden. A paradise created by Him for humanity to flourish. Within the Garden atop of a lone hill stood a short and stocky tree, the Tree of Knowledge. They were forbidden from eating the fruit that grew off this tree, which had been the only rule God had given them.

When Lucifer, cast out of Heaven, suddenly landed in the Garden; he was filled with rage and hatred toward humanity, he thought of nothing more than how to rid this paradise of these two gentle folk.

Through the force of his hatred, he turned into a serpent, slithering on the ground and coiling up the trunk of the Tree of Knowledge until the serpent broke one of the green apples off its branches. The apple fell from the tree and rolled down the hill to rest beneath another tree, where Eve relaxed, her long limbs outstretched, the sunlight shining on her golden hair.

The serpent slithered down until he was level with the back of Eve’s head and whispered into her ear, filling it with lies, and edging her toward the apple, compelling her to take a bite and to share the wonder with Adam. Without knowledge and full of curiosity, she gave into the temptation and took a bite of the forbidden fruit. She then offered Adam a chance to enjoy its taste as well.

As he watched the pair enjoying the apple, the mouth of the serpent formed a smile, and from then on, Lucifer became known as the Great Deceiver, the ultimate manipulator of humanity. With his plan already moving forward, the serpent slithered from view and took cover so he could watch as God confronted his children. Lucifer watched in enjoyment as He banished Adam and Eve from paradise.

God left the garden. Lucifer emerged with a victorious smile across his face; the start of his revenge against Heaven and Earth had begun. The Garden of Eden became the foothold for Lucifer’s fight against Father, as well as humanity.

The foothold to his assault on Heaven turned into a landscape of despair. The lush greenery turned rotten, the trees turned white and bare, the water turned black and sluggish. Lucifer had spent centuries dripping his blood on the land and in the puddles his demon army sprung fully formed.

Lucifer, the fallen angel, created a sword named the Devil’s Blade. The sword looked exactly like the Sword of the Spirit—except without light or essence—it was pitch black. The minions that Lucifer created refer to his sword as the Sword of the Deceiver.

Lucifer had amassed his army for a frontal assault on the Gate of Heaven. His army swarmed like a black mass engulfing the scenery as they approached the pearly gates. Heaven’s Gate opened as a flood of angels wielding swords and clad in armor marched out in formation.

The two armies held distance from each other. The demons quaked and growled; drool spilling from their jaws. Lucifer and Michael proceeded through their ranks to the front. Each brother glared at the other.

With an epic battle cry, the war between Good and Evil, Angels and Demons, had begun.

The war had been short, over before anyone could have believed it had even started. The assault from Lucifer wasn’t unexpected—we were ready and waiting—but we weren’t prepared for the end result. Lucifer overpowered the Archangels and made his way triumphantly toward the Throne of God. There, no one was around to bear witness to the events that transpired next, as the only one to walk down from the Throne had been Lucifer.

The angels fell to their knees at the loss of Father, and Lucifer decreed that he would take over the Throne of God—any angel who wished to follow him should do so immediately, or be cast out for eternity. Even so, only a few joined his side. The Archangel Michael had been the first to go into the River, thrown in by Lucifer himself. The remaining angels had their wings clipped before they were thrown in.

What are you doing, Amenadiel? I’d thought you’d be the first to toss yourself in, Lucifer scoffed as he strolled back to the throne.

I will remain here. You’ll need someone to guide the souls that come here. I’d think an actual angel would look a lot better than one of your demons.

One of Father’s wishes, I presume. It matters not. The day of my Revelation is coming. I’ll be happy to provide you front row seats, Lucifer sneered.

During the war between Lucifer and the Angels; God had been struck down. The Alpha and the Omega, the Creator of Life was dead. Lucifer claimed the Throne of God, thus ruling both above and below. Everything that has occurred since His demise has been a scheme orchestrated by Lucifer; the wars, hatred, even the basis of religion and faith itself.

This tale is of Revelations, and about the one who stood up against Lucifer for the sake of humanity. Revelations in scripture pinpoints the time when humanity will face its sins and be held accountable. This is why this tale must be told, a tale about the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end. And it is I, the angel Amenadiel, who must tell it.

    Chapter Two

"And he said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son."

    - Revelation 21:6-7

    Heaven

The Room of Creation stretched on for eternity, a bright white space filled with nothingness so that it might be filled again and again without restraint. The space where God created the known universe, the Heavens, and Earth, where the departed souls from Earth returned in order to make the journey to the River or further ahead to the bright, shining clouds of Heaven.

Two souls appeared alone in the empty space, a twenty-three-year-old man, sitting in the seiza position, and a young woman, who appeared to be around the same age, asleep in his lap. The young man had a physically fit, athletic body. With chiseled, handsome features and a clean-shaven face, his neatly kept dark brown hair cut short. His emerald eyes shone with an unfathomable light that sparkled deep within.

The young woman had olive-colored skin and a petite body with lush curves. She had a dazzling, angelic face—even Lucifer, in all his cynicism would have been surprised and delighted by her beauty. Her long dirty blonde hair cascaded down her back, her eyes blue as the ocean deep. Both were dressed in pure white togas with a rough, hemp rope tied around their waists, their bare feet peeking out from the hem of their robes.

The young man awakened slowly, as if waking up from a deep sleep. He took a look around him, his forehead creased in worry, his shimmering green eyes widening.

Where am I? What is this place? he said, looking down at the woman resting in his lap, the confusion moving over his face, as he stared at her sleeping form, And who is this?

Just then, the young woman woke up, rubbing her eyes as she regained consciousness before she turned slowly toward the face of the young man.

Who are you? she asked in a low, sleepy voice, like honey mixed with gravel, Where am I? she rose slowly, sitting next to the young man. They both stared at each other in silence for a moment, as neither were able to answer the other.

A door of light emerged a few yards in front of them as the angel Amenadiel walked through it silently, the door disappearing as he headed toward the young man and woman. Amenadiel appeared as a thirty-five-year-old black male, bald and clean- shaven. His eyes were light brown with a soft glow around them, a dimly lit halo resting over his head, and a pair of ash-grey wings folded behind his back.

He wore a slightly off-white colored toga with a gray sash that wrapped from his left shoulder, then draped around to his right arm, and his feet were bare. He stopped just short of the pair and stretched out his left hand to help the young woman stand up. She took his hand without hesitation, and the young man followed after her. They stood in silence, Amenadiel smiling as he waited for them to speak.

Looking around frantically, fear running rampant across his face, the young man asked, Where is this place? Who am I? Who are you?

So many questions. To which there are so many answers. Which do you find most important? Amenadiel asked in a patient tone of voice, the sound strangely soothing to the young man and woman standing before him

What is this place? the young woman asked, with no small degree of awe as she gazed around at her surroundings.

    The Room of Creation.

And what is the Room of Creation? the man asked, his expression more curious than afraid now.

You don’t already understand that? Amenadiel said with a puzzled frown, Those who return here usually have some kind of vague understanding of where they are.

Look, I am not even sure who I am. How do you expect me to understand any of this? the young man asked in exasperation, running a hand through his thick, dark hair.

I don’t have any memories to speak of. I don’t even know my name, the woman said, fear creeping into her voice, perhaps mixed with the tiniest bit of annoyance.

This is most intriguing. I’m certain this is a first to happen in Heaven, Amenadiel said thoughtfully, his dark eyes glowing almost otherworldly in the light.

A surprised look appeared on the young man’s face, Heaven? Why does that sound familiar, he said, rubbing his chin, his voice trailing off into nothingness.

Young miss, do you not know of Heaven? Amenadiel asked incredulously.

With a straight face the young woman shrugged and replied, Never heard of it.

This is most interesting indeed, Amenadiel said, a perplexed look descending over his features. I’ll have to look into this later on, but for now I must complete my duty. This room is where God, our Father, created the Heavens and Earth. It is the returning point for the souls of humanity after their lives are over down below. Here the souls are given a choice—either enter Heaven or return to the River.

What is the River? she asked shyly, looking down so that her mane of luxurious hair fell across her face like a curtain.

The River is the Sea of Souls that contains those waiting to re-enter Earth. It takes the form of infinity forming an endless loop. When the proper vessel for a soul is prepared on Earth the soul can reenter the life cycle, and be reborn for a chance to live again, Amenadiel explained, gesturing with his hands, his movements both elegant and graceful.

That doesn’t sound so bad, the young man said with a hopeful smile, shuffling his bare feet against the floor.

True. Many take this option but there is no guarantee that you will come back again as a human being. As in the great circle of life, every life on Earth has a soul. There’s a possibility that you may reincarnate as a tree or an insect—hence, the second choice, to enter Heaven.

Amenadiel raised both his arms to his sides and two doors of light appeared behind them, The door to my right, leads to the River. The door to my left will take you to Heaven.

What can you tell us about Heaven? the young man asked, curiosity animating his voice, his eyes alight with the possibility of all Heaven contained. He wasn’t sure what he was hoping for, but he waited excitedly for Amenadiel to speak again.

Heaven’s different for everyone, Amenadiel said patiently. There are no words to describe what Heaven is for you. If you have faith and believe you are ready to enter Heaven then all you have to do is take that step. However, if you wish for a second chance at life, enter the River. Your right to Free Will enables you to make this choice.

I don’t like the idea of entering the River so I’ll choose to go to Heaven, the young woman said decisively, distractedly pushing her long blonde hair from her face and exposing her sparkling, sea-blue eyes, her gaze thoughtful and serious.

Amenadiel raised his right hand to stop the young man from speaking and said, Just another piece of information, the Room of Creation is also known as the Room of Soulmates.

The Room of Soulmates, what does that mean? the young man asked, the smooth skin of his forehead wrinkling into a frown.

"The souls of those meant to be together always return here for a chance to be together again, Amenadiel explained. Even if in your last life you were unable to meet each other this room provides you with the chance to determine if you wish to try again. But it has been known for soul mates to accept different paths. I just felt you needed to know all of the details before you made your decision."

I don’t understand what any of that means, the man answered, irritated once again.

You are true loves, destined ones, fated lovers; the most blessed of humanity. God created man and woman in pairs, the soul placed inside them were once one complete soul, which He separated and placed into separate vessels. These souls seek each other out to become complete once again. That is why many in humanity feel like something is missing because they are always seeking the other part of their soul so they can reunite the halves again. Unfortunately, if one of these souls decide to go to Heaven then that pair’s cycle is broken and they cannot be joined again.

Amenadiel walked over to the young man, placing one hand reassuringly on his shoulder.

So this woman and I are meant to be together and if I chose to enter the River instead of entering Heaven I will never find true love on Earth? The man asked, taking a step closer to the woman, almost protectively, and moving away from Amenadiel’s grasp

Correct, your blessed cycle together will end.

The man took a moment to think before answering. Finally, he turned to Amenadiel, his gaze finely calibrated as a laser beam when he spoke. I will enter Heaven as well, then.

For a quick moment the young woman’s
