The following book is a practical and comprehensive guide to learning medical Spanish. The focus of this book is in learning how to communicate with Spanish speaking patients and colleagues and its target audience are people who speak little or no Spanish.

This book consists of 2 units, each of them focus on a different medical topic, from daily interactions with patients to emergency situations. Their level of difficulty will increase from unit to unit, but the structure of the book will be the same. All of the units contain lessons. These lessons will be composed by an overview, a dialogue, a review and a vocabulary lesson.

Each lesson will begin with a short introduction that will explain the focus of the lesson and the setting of the dialogue we will learn from. The dialogues are the core of each lesson, they are modelled after real interactions medical professionals encounter on a daily basis.

Following the introduction there will be a dialogue and core of the lesson called review, at the end we will have a vocabulary review, in which we will go over the words and their meaning and repeat the learned phrases.

We know that learning a language is frustrating for some people. All the dialogues in the lessons will be taken from real day to day interactions in the medical field and at first it may seem like the dialogues are long and complicated, don’t worry, we will go over them in detail and by the time we finish the lesson you will have understood every single word we used.
