Ellen Deakin
Ellen studied design at the Glasgow School of Art in a golden era when there were shiny new computers at one end of the hall and still an original letter press studio at the other. She went on to work in the UK as a graphic designer, illustrator and art director, working with clients such as BBC Scotland, Scottish Ballet, Channel 4, Playhouse Disney and Lupus films. In 2010, along with her husband Harry Olden, she launched Happythought, a craft website, full of inspiring ideas, tutorials and fun printable projects. Welcome to Sloth Crafts! I’m really excited to share 18 fun projects about sloths—one of the coolest, cutest animals around. Don’t be surprised if you fall for these lovable animals in a big way!
There’s so much to be inspired by in sloths. They seem to enjoy the good things in life, hanging out, watching the world go by, always with a big smile on their faces!
With help from some talented friends, I’ve had so much fun putting together a wonderful variety of Sloth inspired projects—with something for everyone and for every occasion. So let’s get crafting! Take it easy and get in touch with your inner sloth.

SO WHAT IS A SLOTH?
A sloth is a mammal that lives in trees, often hanging upside down. It sleeps 15 to 20 hours a day. A sloth has poor eyesight. It moves slowly, to conserve energy and to avoid detection by predators.
Where does the sloth live? Sloths live in trees in the tropical rain forests of South and Central America. They usually eat their diet of leaves, sleep, and even give birth hanging from branches. Their long arms and legs have curved claws to help them to hang upside down. Their slow movement on land helps them avoid attack by
