About this ebook
Do you remember how you felt when you fell in love for the very first time?
Do you remember the emotion? The intensity? The imagination? The curiosity? The adventure?
'Winter Dreams' is the story of one young couple's journey through their 'first love' adventure, but told in a very unusual way - a series of word & image compositions, through each of which words and carefully selected images by some truly inspiring photographers work hand in hand to capture the sometimes intense emotion of the moment we are privileged to witness.
We meet the couple at points throughout their relationship. Each episode describes just a brief moment of their time together - but what happened in the times between our privileged moments, and whether the gaps between our glimpses into their lives represented moments, days, weeks....that’s all left up to the reader’s imagination.

Winter Dreams - Stephen Mossop
‘Winter Dreams’ started out as an experiment, to see if it was possible to tell and present a story in a different way.
It simply would not have been possible at all without the active participation and endless patience of the photographers who allowed me to use (and often play with) their amazing images, and I am grateful beyond words to Mattie Woodfine, Paul Sandy, Jacki Clegg, Chris Mossop and Arild Heitmann for their support and encouragement throughout the project.
Without their willingness to contribute, their time in seeking out (and sometimes taking) the perfect images for the various scenarios, it would have been just words, and would have lacked the richness that the images have provided.
I’m grateful also to Charlotte Cooper, who very kindly put her magical software skills at my disposal and managed somehow to make sure that the compositions were the right, shape and quality for publication.
‘Winter Dreams’ was originally broadcast via social media, in a serialised form over the winter of 2017-18 - and I have to admit that I was amazed at how popular it became, and so grateful for the wonderful feedback I received from readers all over the world. This would not have been possible without the active interest and support of a wide range of social media outlets. It would be impossible to mention them all here
