Ronnie, are you coming? Marshall asks as he pops his head around the door.

Just ten more minutes, I promise my boyfriend, not looking up from the spellbook.

That's what you said an hour ago, he mutters. He sounds fed up, but I know he'll forgive me, he always does.

You can go, I've got this, Magda promises me from across the room.

No, we need to finish this if we want to get on the honour roll, I respond. If we want the best jobs, then we're going to need to graduate from Grimalkin with all the advantages we could find. I pull myself away from the notes Magda and I have scrawled all over our notebook and go over to him. He pushes the door open a bit more so the two of us have enough space as I lean up to kiss him gently on the lips.
