She manages to do the exact opposite when she accidentally stumbles into the path for a pack of alpha werewolves. She tries to make a run for it, but an alpha werewolf lunges for her neck and declares her his mate.

Great story with varied characters with different perspectives that find away to live and love together. Accommodation on all sides with respect and lust makes for an entertaining tale. Some editing errors in matching verbs with nouns and he/her confusion. Overall a fun read with a novel premise.

Look Inside

I'm not- I'm not your mate, she stutters.

You ran, little rabbit, he says. I caught you. And now you're mine.

Her blood freezes in her veins. How could she be so stupid? Even back home, she's been warned about this. Never run from a predator unless you're completely certain you can get away.

Breathe, rabbit, he says and she takes a shuddering inhale dutifully. He allows her a moment to calm down, then starts moving towards her.

She contemplates wrenching the door open and diving out into the road.  It'll take a while for them to catch up to her, and maybe she can get way. What happens now? she asks, her voice quiet. She's hoping that the question is enough to distract him from coming any closer. It doesn't work.

He reaches out an arm and pulls her into his chest by her waist. He's so warm and comforting that she has to resist the urge to melt against him. She closes her eyes and focuses on breathing. In. Out. In. Out.

His grasp on her waist tightens and she feels the warmth of his fingers. Her breathing turns erratic once again. It's like trying to control a sailboat in a tidal wave.

He makes a soft rumbling noise as he rubs his nose against her neck. She wants to ask what he's doing but his mouth is suddenly on her neck and she holds completely still when she feels his tongue on her skin. She hisses in through her teeth when he licks at the wound but is too afraid to move.

You get twenty four hours to settle all your affairs. After that, I'm coming back for you.

You're coming back for me? she echoes and tries not to moan when he nuzzles her hair with his chin, rubbing his scent on her. The action makes her shiver a little. She feels like there's a fire inside her, burning with a low heat that threatens to consume her completely.

You're mine now, rabbit, he says and his hands on her waist feels like they are hot enough to burn through her shirt. He moves his lips back to her neck and she tenses, thinking he's going to bite her again, but he merely laps at the bite mark he's left on her.

The sensation of his tongue on her neck is almost soothing. She shudders and relaxes into his hold with a soft moan that she couldn't keep in her throat. Blood rushes to her face.

You like that don't you? Like it when I mark you? he murmurs.

She bites her lower lip because she doesn't quiet trust herself not to moan again.

Chapter 1: Please Don't Eat Me

It was no secret that Aurora is terrified of her boss. Not many people aren't, so she's not completely ashamed when she cowers or whimpers whenever he gets too close. To be fair, Mr. Lupin was an Alpha wolf, which means he's pretty terrifying to begin with, and she's... well... she's a rabbit. It's biology. It's simple self preservation.

Most were-rabbits grew up in farms and very few venture out into the city. They were good at planting, farming, harvesting, and little else. Or at least that's what the old government keeps trying to remind them. They're no longer defined by their animals. Aurora isn't revolutionary. A few of her cousins work in the cities too, but she's certainly the first in her family to leave the farm. There really isn't much choice for her when her father died suddenly. It's clear that the money from the farm will not be enough to sustain them, not with just the two of them now. They barely earned enough with her dad around.

She has a plan, though. She's going to work for a few months during her holidays, then go back and get a degree and find a proper job and take care of her mother. Her grades are good enough that her teachers think she can get a few scholarship offers.

Her plan's solid. It's going to work. It has to.

If her plan involves working on Sundays and handing work documents to Alpha Lupin, then she's just going to have to toughen up and do it.

She is a little surprised to find that Alpha Lupin did not live in an abandoned mansion with windows painted black and giant double doors with gargoyle heads on them. She's actually a little disappointed when she got into the elevator of the fancy condominium to see that it was the regular silver-grey cube that is only somewhat reflective. Even the floor number (Thirty-fifth floor) is completely normal.

Her doe-eyed reflection stares back at her bleakly and she musters up a smile. She tries to convince herself that she likes being here. Her nerves argue otherwise.

When the door opens, she is certain she will be presented with a hallway lined with dark, locked doors and eerie silence. Instead, she is staring at clouds through transparent glass. It's breathtaking and she picks her jaw from the floor and tells herself not to gawk.

Behind Aurora, the doors of the private elevator slides shut with a decisive whisper and she steps further into the gleaming, hardwood-floor lobby of Mr. Lupin's penthouse apartment, trying her best to look harmless, less he mistakes her for an intruder and lunges at her.

Her mouth waters at the thought of the alpha male on top of her, all hard muscles and masculinity. She catches herself and pushes the thought to the far back of her mind and burns it with fire because that kind of thought is unacceptable. He's her bosses' boss. He outranks her on so many levels that she's probably just a speck of sand in his path. Insignificant and annoying.

Mr. Lupin, sir? she calls out, keeping the fear from her voice because she's heard that werewolves
