Analyn Richards stood on the steps of Charleston Community Church, shook.
Yeah, she’d planned plenty of weddings for other blissful couples, but plan her own wedding? That put a whole lot of extra into an already extra event.
First, it had to be perfect. No questions.
Second, it had to be perfect. No questions.
And third, it had to be perfect. No questions.
No big deal.
Yes, it was a big deal. A very big deal. After her first failed attempt at a marriage, she didn’t want any screw-ups this time around. Second time was the charm, right?
Or was it third time? No third times! Analyn pushed the possibility out of her mind.
She hefted her 220-page wedding plan in the crook of her elbow and pried open the mahogany doors of the church. The sanctuary charged her pulse into a frenzied rat-a-tat-tat. She ignored the sensation and fished her iPhone from her clutch. Miranda, her maid of honor, was late. Surprise, surprise.
Miranda had promised to help her with figuring out the proper layout for the wedding party, but Miranda had her own relationship drama to deal with. So much for her promises.
Analyn trudged to the marble altar and candelabra. Three pillared candles emitted a burnt odor and evoked memories of wasted wedding vows from her first, unraveled union.
