Brody Burton woke up with a sudden jolt, the loud blare of his cell phone going off next to him. A woman he couldn't quite remember the name of pulled the duvet over her ear to block out the sound and Brody tried to recall how he ended up in this hotel. Quickly accepting the previous night was still just a haze, he accepted the call. It was the band's newly appointed manager, Kirk Stevens, and he could barely contain his excitement with his words exploding in a flurry.

"Brody, this is major. Since No Angels hit five million streams I've been getting emails from the A&R men of all the big labels. If you get a deal with these guys you are looking at a five album deal and a huge advance. They all mention wanting to come and see you live and so I've been thinking....instead of doing a showcase just for the labels, you should play somewhere credible like SJSW in Texas. Its where you play when you're on the verge of becoming a big deal. Well, Raw Deal are now a big deal....".

Brody chuckled and replied, "Raw Deal are a big deal....I like that...and yeah I agree with your idea, the guys will like it too. I don't just wanna play for labels, they can come see us play to a crowd of people like we usually do....I'll tell the guys and we will get rehearsing again."

Kirk responded with a stern tone and said, You guys better get to work, the SJSW gig is in two weeks and I've got to try and get you on the line up. I think I can with the momentum you guys have but you can't screw this one up if you want a shot at the big time....got me?.

Brody felt it was too early for this level of professionalism but he knew the band needed someone like him to kick their ass once in a while. Since the tour to promote No Angels the amount of phone calls and emails flooding in had been too much to handle and so the band had agreed it was time to get a manager who could take them to the top.
