About this ebook
The first story, "The Murders in the Rue Paul," features the madcap antics of a blowhard FBI agent who goes undercover to hunt a serial killer... at a drag club in Miami's South Beach. Special-Agent-in-Charge, Frank Kaczynski, lives his worst nightmare by posing as a drag queen to lure a murderer targeting the club's performers. Under the tutelage of Hector, aka Miss Kitty, and the cooperation of a Cuban club owner, Tito Escalante, Frank, and his sidekick, Agent Bob Wilson, devise a plan to "get their man," so to speak. It's a "tongue-in-cheek" (pardon the pun, which was intended) comedy that pairs the tough, streetwise cop with the flamboyant drag culture depicted in the film, "The Birdcage."
The second story, "Angel of the Morning," has everything: a lecherous, mustachioed, airline captain, Burt, pouring drinks while wearing a monogrammed smoking-robe. He is a married man getting his kicks with a much-younger stewardess school student from "the valley" named Connie. His adulterous misdeeds aside, he's a mature, successful individual with plans to retire, while she's a flake with no regard for the consequences of her actions. This poses a threat to Burt's marriage and career, the conflict of which plays out in a 1970s Howard Johnsons motel room. Adult-themes and subject matter make for a fun read the whole family can enjoy. Maybe? I wouldn't.
Last but not least, "Trouble Connecting" takes a look inside the Manzell residence, a middle-class suburban household in the 1990s. Bob comes home from work as Clara prepares dinner. Their teenaged son, Jason, and his pals are upstairs in his room trying to call a girl from school while his dad, Bob, tries to dialup his AOL internet service to send an important work-related email. This wouldn't be a problem if there was more than one phone line in the house. This cannot end well. Good luck, Bob. Jason.
