Graham Insley

Graham Insley has been writing since he was seventeen; now well into his sixties, it is still his favourite thing to do. For over five years, he was the editor at large for a world-wide prison ministry magazine, bringing the Word of God into the lives of many prisoners. He is also an award-winning writer for Faithwriters. In 2014 Graham earned their title of Best of the Best. Coming from a dysfunctional family, with an alcoholic father and a prescription addicted mother, Graham became an alcoholic at a young age. With his life in a downward spiral, his attempts to find God failed and he was disillusioned with his own nominal attempts at Christianity. During a prison sentence, he experienced a personal encounter with the living God and found new depth in the Word. This pointed to a different lifestyle that needed to be lived, not just talked about. Graham’s spiritual journey thus began and his life started to turn around. He found he had been sent to jail to be set free. Graham’s greatest passion is to draw his readers into a deeper, more intimate relationship with the heavenly Father. He loves to give people a fresh understanding of just how real, and involved in their life, God really is. When he's not writing, you will find him teaching Biblical truths in churches around Australia and studying Scripture from a Hebrew point of view.

    Absolute Fact

1Jn 4:18-19. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

    Satan came up to me

    And whispered in my ear.

He said, "I am your friend,

    You have nothing to fear.

    I have come to reveal

    The truth of the matter.

    About Christ and His death,

The absolute fact of the latter.

    You don't truly believe

    In small fairies and such.

You know things are not real

By just their sound and touch.

    I can see you’re a man

    Of discernment, not haste.

You can tell it's a lie,

From the very way it smells and tastes.

    Rising up from the dead,

    Well, it’s simply not real.

    I ask you, be honest,

    Can a dead person feel?

    It's all just fantasy,

    Science Fiction, not fact.

    And I’ll just listen now,

While you struggle to answer me back."

    I said, "I know it’s you,

    Whispering in my ear.

And I know that you’re right.

    I have nothing to fear.

    But you contain no truth,

    You have no valid point,

    You’re the father of lies,

Now, get out of my joint.

    You’re not welcome here,

    I command you to go,

And take your lies with you,

As you cease with their flow.

    But just before you leave,

    Here's absolute fact,

    About my Lord Jesus,

And His Cross, with its pact.

    On two pieces of wood,

    With a few iron spikes,

    You murdered my Lord,

    When you vented your spite.

But the truth is still truth,

You’re left out in the rain,

    Because now you’re the one,

    To face sorrow and pain.

    For your plan has backfired,

It blew up in your face,

    Salvation has come down,

    For the whole human race.

    Excuse me, I’m sorry,

Your lies are such poor bait,

    I know He is risen,

    And you know your fate.

    I need no more proof,

    It’s easy to tell,

    I’m bound for heaven,

    While you can keep hell.

    Live there with your lies,

    And try to keep cool.

    An absolute fact?

    My Jesus still rules.

    The Shadow of His Cross

Psalm 17:8. Keep me as the pupil, the daughter of the eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings,

The vision started and would not stop,

As my Lord revealed something to me,

About people, what they mean to Him,

And His chosen way to set them free.

I saw a bright, sun filled sky,

That lit the scene in a glare,

The only relief from the sun?

The shadow of His Cross was there.

A line of people came from the left,

    Broken, drunken and shattered lives,

    Dirty, down trodden old men,

    Beaten, frail and troubled wives.

Children of the street running wild,

Staggering addicts in ones and twos,

People who were nearly starved to death,

All but naked, wearing no shoes.

Some could hardly manage to walk,

Some took fits along the way,

    Some badly needed
